About Dr. Kyle Rudningen
Dr. Kyle Rudningen is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
Originally from Annandale, Minnesota, Dr. Rudningen began his healthcare career as a doctor of physical therapy before attending medical school at the University of North Dakota. There, he earned multiple honors, including the Academic Achievement Award, Most Committed to Excellence Award and early induction into Alpha Omega Alpha. He was also recognized for his bedside manner with selection into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. During his internship at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, he was named Resident of the Year.
He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Wisconsin, serving as chief resident, and continued at the same institution to complete his fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology. During fellowship, he performed more than 1,000 Mohs procedures and nearly 150 flaps and grafts—training at the very institution where Dr. Fred Mohs developed the technique.
Before joining Schweiger Dermatology Group, Dr. Rudningen practiced in central Minnesota, where he became known for successfully treating some of the region’s most challenging skin cancer cases, including tumors on the nose, eyelids and lips. His research contributions have been published in leading dermatology journals.
