Lauren Russo is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for adult and pediatric patients at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She earned her Bachelor of Health Science degree from Stony Brook University with honors. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Stony Brook University where she also graduated with honors. Before Physician Assistant school, Lauren worked in dermatology for three years as a medical assistant.
Upon completing Physician Assistant school, Lauren further advanced her medical career by successfully completing Schweiger Dermatology Group’s Advanced Practice Provider Training Program. This comprehensive fellowship includes a rigorous academic curriculum and intensive clinical training led by top dermatologists. Through the program, Lauren gained exceptional experience in various facets of dermatology, including medical, surgical and cosmetic procedures, further enhancing her expertise and proficiency in the field.
Lauren is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants.

Dr. Russo gave an accurate diagnosis but she does not seem to have much experience with seven year olds. She began freezing multiple spots off my son’s legs with little warning then became visibly frustrated when he cried at the unexpected pain. I wouldn’t recommend her for younger children.

I love this place , Yafi is a great person, I should’ve been there years ago . But overall they are nice and understanding. They don’t judge you or make you feel uncomfortable about your situation. She was very clear with speaking to me and made me feel soo comfortable I recommend everybody to go there .

Lauren was great. The front staff desk experience was disappointing. I had another PT appointment right after dermatology and asked if the PA was on time. I was told she was. Waited for almost 1 hr for a 5 min visit. The front desk woman didn’t want to go in the back and check with the PA how much longer it would take. The supervisor - although friendly - came back from lunch and still had to wait for 25 more min after she was notified that I’ve been waiting for a while and I had to go to another appointment. When the PA arrived she said the front desk didn’t communicate with her and she wasn’t aware if the situation. The PA - Lauren - was very apologetic and expedited the visit, which I appreciated. Given this experience, I wouldn’t go back.
