Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Zapata earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He completed his preliminary year in Internal Medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago before pursuing his dermatology residency at the University of Utah, where he received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin conditions.
