She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the University of Colorado, Denver. She is also a graduate of Kaskaskia College's associate degree nursing program and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

I arrived early to do the new patient paperwork, but the receptionist looked at me weirdly when she looked at when my appointment was. I told her I knew I would have all kinds of paperwork to fill out so I came early. Then I get into the room to have treatment and Dr. Amason almost left the room without giving me the treatment and her nurse had to remind her. She just said "oh yeah, I guess I do need to do that". Then I was supposed to have a prescription sent to my pharmacy and they forgot to send, I had to call them to remind them to send it in.
