About Susan Guerra
Susan Guerra is a board certified family nurse practitioner.
She obtained her certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Public Health. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family Primary Care from Pace University. Susan has been a nurse practitioner for 25 years. Since 2010, she has been providing medical dermatology care for adults and children and she is committed to educating her patients on the management and treatment options of skin conditions as well as the importance of developing and maintaining health habits including basic skin care, sun protection, self-exam and regular examinations for the detection of skin cancer and pre-cancerous conditions.
She is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Susan was born and raised in New York City. She currently resides in Central New Jersey.

The front desk staff was very friendly. When I went into the exam room I had questions prepared as to the abnormal skin issues I have been experiencing. I booked this appointment from a recommendation of a family member who saw another dermatologist in the office, but this doctor was the only one with a free appointment at the time I needed. When I began asking my questions she seemed annoyed and disinterested and when I had more than three questions she started walking toward the door and I had to try and rapid fire questions as she began reaching for the doorknob. On the last question I could possibly ask because she had opened the door and had one foot out, she got out of the room as fast as she could to retrieve samples for something I am unsure is even the issue and gave the samples to the assistant to give to me and send me on my way. I felt that she did not care much as to my problem and I would not go back to see this specific dermatologist.

Susan was very abrupt and lacked bedside manners. I have keloids on my ears that have been treated for years, however I stopped going because it was an expensive copay every time and the treatments weren’t working. I went to Susan for a second opinion and she immediately declined doing any treatment, abruptly walked out of the room to consult the doctor, and came back with a business card to see a plastic surgeon. Basically took my copay and did nothing for me. Was just overall super rude and made me feel so uncomfortable.

I was relieved that Susan Guerra had available appointments; I was able to schedule one for the same day.
Susan was very concerned with my condition and was determined to treat it as effectively as possible. She wanted to take a topical approach first
vs oral steroids (and their side effects). She provided many OTC options and gave me samples to try. Her goal was to make me as comfortable as possible, and the cream she prescribed worked immediately.
She was very thorough, thoughtful, and didn’t rush the visit.
This was my first time being seen by Susan, and I plan to schedule future appointments with her
if and when necessary.

This was my first visit with Susan Guerra. She was wonderful to speak with and listened to my concerns. The desk staff were kind and helpful. The only reason I give less than 5 stars is because I had a bit of a wait before seeing my provider. But overall, would recommend.
