About Ashley Baksh

Ashley Baksh is a physician assistant specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is passionate about patient education and helping her patients thrive, especially with their skin care. She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Physician Assistant Board of California. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley attended Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She also pursued independent academic research projects in her time at Georgia Tech and was awarded several research scholarships for her contributions in characterizing cystic fibrosis treatments. She later went on the earn her Master of Medical Science from Mercer University, graduating at the top of her class. During her clinical rotations, Ashley received training in surgical techniques as well as a strong foundation in treating medical conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair loss, and skin cancer. In order to provide excellent care for her patients, Ashley stays informed on new technologies and treatments in dermatology by attending continuing medical education conferences and seminars. She is a fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and is currently enrolled in the Diplomate Fellowship Program through SDPA. She is experienced with procedures such as incision and drainage, biopsies, and cryotherapy as well as cosmetic procedures such as microneedling, laser treatments, Botox, and PRP injections. Prior to joining California Skin Institute, Ashley worked both in internal medicine as well as with a dermatology clinic in San Diego, California. During this time, she provided dermatologic and wound care to underserved patients in both the clinic and nursing home settings. These experiences provided her with a breadth of medical knowledge, which she continues to utilize for the benefit of her patients.
