About Kelsey Mason
Kelsey Mason is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2013 from Cox College in Springfield, Missouri, where she graduated at the top of her class. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, in 2010, graduating magna cum laude.
After graduating, she practiced internal medicine and pediatrics as a foundation for her eventual goal of exclusively practicing dermatology. She has always had an interest in dermatology and treated a wide variety of skin conditions within the scope of her internal medicine and pediatrics practice. She was drawn to dermatology because of her personal experience as a former acne patient and the way treatment helped her optimize her self-confidence as a teenager.
Kelsey became Southern Illinois University Division of Dermatology's first mid-level provider and an adjunct faculty member at the school. Her clinical interests include skin cancer detection and management, acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis.
The most rewarding part of her job is providing patient education on best skin care practices and developing relationships with her patients to customize treatment plans to their specific dermatologic needs. Recognizing the psychosocial impact that dermatological conditions can have on a patient, she seeks every opportunity to improve skin conditions and thereby enhance quality of life.
Kelsey is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Society, and the Dermatology Nurses Association.
When not treating patients, Kelsey enjoys lap swimming, traveling, scuba diving, hiking, writing, playing the piano, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and spending time with friends and family.
Kelsey is currently accepting new adult and pediatric patients for medical, general, and cosmetic dermatology.

Kelsey is wonderful and the medical assistants are always friendly (this appointment it was Austin and he was great). She is super efficient, helpful, and nice. I see her for yearly skin cancer screenings and acne management and she has been very effective for both! Highly recommend!

Office was extremely busy and waiting area over crowded but they directed people to another waiting area to ease the congestion the best they could. Even as busy as they were I didn’t feel rushed during my appointment. Procedure was explained and aftercare also.

Ms Mason was very professional and gave me medications to deal with my acne marks plus I was able to get my mole removed. I will reach out to the office next year to get my skin tags and one more mole removed. The office was crowded but I understood it was a holiday so more people were able to be there. She advised I should get my skin checked every year which I plan to do.

I had an exceptionally positive visit with Kelsey today for a skin cancer screening. She was professional, knowledgable, timely, super efficient, and personable. In my experience, it is so hard to find a provider with good bedside manner who also runs on time, answers all your questions, and doesn’t make you feel rushed. Kelsey did that today! And she managed to put me completely at ease WHILE removing a few moles. Possibly a magician ?? My experience was fantastic. The front desk staff and other medical staff were also great- friendly and on top of their stuff. Already scheduled a follow up. Based on my solid experience, I would recommend!!

I liked NP Kelsey, her personality was nice and she prescribed meds that we hoped would help.
I returned after 4 weeks for follow up, and to get different med. Previous meds weren’t helping! One med prescribed was irritating my skin more.
I was disappointed that no facial exam or tips to help my current dermatological problem were given by her. She only prescribed another medicine, but no alternative things that may also help. Just come back again if next med are not working.
Not happy about any alternative help offered!
I waited longer this second visit to see her, and she spent less than 10 minutes in the room talking to me.
