About Dr. Yi Lai
Yi Lai, MD, MPH is a double board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist and Mohs
micrographic surgeon at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
Dr. Lai graduated Magna Cum Laude in three years from Lehigh University. He earned
his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he graduated
among the top of his class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor
Society. Dr. Lai completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate Health
Sciences University and subsequently completed a fellowship in micrographic surgery
and dermatologic oncology.
Dr. Lai is passionate about epidemiology and health promotion, which prompts him to
pursue a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. He has authored
numerous peer-reviewed journal articles as well as textbook chapters and was awarded
the Marcus T. Block MD Award in Clinical Dermatology.
Dr. Lai provides personalized dermatologic treatments in order to achieve optimal
medical and cosmetic outcomes.

Dr. Lai is a great doctor. I had Mohs surgery and he did a fantastic job stitching my wound to ensure a minimal scare. Before the surgery he had a consultation with me to explain the surgery. If you need Mohs surgery on your face like I did I would highly recommend going to Dr. Lai.

Dr. Lai is amazing! I am so happy I found him and would never want to see another dermatologist. He is truly so kind and friendly. I felt so comfortable getting mohs surgery on my scalp after meeting him and was very clear on all aftercare and any other information I needed. I was sore for 2 days and after that it was like nothing was there! Dr. Lai is truly one of the best providers I’ve ever seen. I’ve told all my friends and family to start seeing him as well. Dr. Lai excised a mole with atypical cells one year ago. His work was excellent with no scar visible. He is very gentle and shows great concern and respect for his patient’s comfort. After the surgery I had a slight adverse reaction to the anesthesia. The assistant was very caring and helpful during the duration of the reaction.
