About Dr. Linda Sheu

Dr. Linda Sheu is a board-certified dermatologist who earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School and completed her residency at Loyola University in Chicago. In addition to her training in dermatology, Dr. Sheu completed an advanced fellowship in integrative medicine from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Her lifelong fascination with overall wellbeing has led her to study how sleep, stress reduction, exercise, and nutrition optimize health from the inside-out. Dr. Sheu has practiced dermatology in Northern California for the past 10 years, and has been voted as one of Sacramento’s top doctors. She has been awarded top five percent patient satisfaction for one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in California. Dr. Sheu has been actively involved in educating residents and volunteering in county clinics and for the Skin Cancer Foundation. I recently had a doctor’s appointment that was a bit of a mixed experience. Despite a wait time of over 30 minutes, the doctor was genuinely nice and seemed caring. However the communication regarding the treatment steps was unclear. I expected to receive a clear treatment plan but left without any directives or medications. Additionally when I attempted to cancel the appointment due to these issues I was surprised to learn of a $75 fee for same-day cancellations. This was not communicated explicitly beforehand, which added to the frustration. The overall management and clarity of the process could be improved

Lovely office, very nice front desk and the Doctor was kind as well. The problem was a 40 minute wait. There is no excuse for that for anybody. I was told 'something happened' which I understand, things do happen. So call me. My time is valuable. I am an educator so I had a window of time to get this appointment done. I did see the Doctor, but only had five minutes for the exam.

Dr Sheu had seen me before and had all my records from that visit and other doctors at the same clinic. She referred to those when examining me and was able to note something that needed following up from a previous visit. She answered my questions and recommended next steps. I will continue to see her at this clinic even though I have moved far away.

The rating has two parts - Dr. Sheu and the office. Dr. Sheu was great. She listened to my (long) problem description and offered insights that other dermatologists missed. So for the treatment that she recommended seems to be working great. The office is a totally different story, and a sad one. I had a question about the prescription but there is just no way to talk to anyone there. I called the office and the automated phone system directed me to a voicemail. I called the front desk and they directed me to... the same voicemail. I left a message and... nothing, no one has gotten back to me (I'm writing this a 3 weeks after). I found that you can send messages via their web site, sent a message and... nothing. No response, no one contacted me. I still have the question but there's no one to talk to.

I would never go back to this doctor. I have been getting annual skin checks for years. This is the 1st time I had anything biopsied. This is also the 1st time a doctor didn’t use any type of device to scan my skin. No magnification or light. I truly felt like she did a once over glance at me and was like, I’d like to take a biopsy. I let her do the biopsy. A month and a 1/2 later after leaving messages and the office not answering the phone or returning my call, I submitted for an appointment. Wouldn’t you know they called that day to schedule an appointment. I made it clear in the notes I just wanted someone to tell me my results. The woman did not read when I wrote. Long story short they got someone to tell me over the phone that day the results were negative. I don’t trust this doctor or the practice.

Such a gentle and caring doctor! I found her to be very professional and patient. Her inquiries were never uncomfortable. They always came from a genuine point of interest in resolving your skin-related issues. Her methodology was collaborative and patient-focused; you truly feel as though you're working together and not being lectured at or shamed. At the same time, Dr. Sheu was undoubtedly realistic with expectations. She laid out exactly what my requested procedure may entail including: possible scars, size and shape of the scar, expected recovery time, and care protocol. She made sure that I was well aware of these possibilities prior to proceeding. Her wait time was a tad lengthy but that seems to be out of her control and more of a front desk scheduling issue. In all honesty, I'd wait any amount of time just to be seen by Dr. Sheu since she is such a gem! Additional bonus was her preference for OTC product recommendations over less affordable options!
