About Dr. Kimberly McMahon

**When scheduling your Well Woman Exam, please ensure it's scheduled one year after your previous exam. If you are a returning patient, please make sure to book your exam with your same provider.** Upon graduating from Tulane University with an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, Dr. McMahon received both a Master’s Degree in Physiology and a Medical Degree from the University of Louisville. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a certified menopause practitioner for the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). Dr. McMahon is now focusing her practice on gynecological patients, from adolescence through menopause. Dr. McMahon performs a wide range of office procedures including hysteroscopic polyp and fibroid removal as well as endometrial ablation. She sees her obstetric patients through the first trimester, ensuring a smooth transition to her partners who will provide ongoing prenatal care. Dr. McMahon is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University’s affiliate medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine, and has been practicing since 2001. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three amazing children. She is committed to medical student education and giving back to the community. She has volunteered at a public health clinic on the northwest side of Chicago since 2009 providing gynecologic care to women in an underserved community. In 2019 she also began volunteering at a second clinic in the West Town neighborhood.

The doctor was very lax and was dressed in regular clothing (no scrubs or surgical mask), which felt very unusual. I felt like her bedside manner was overly friendly to a detriment, but unfortunately, she didn’t put me at ease when conducting her exam. She didn’t walk me through what she was doing, which was confusing as a new patient.

Dr. McMahon was absolutely wonderful. I'd let my care lapse for a few years after having my child and I was really anxious about seeing someone for the routine and not-so-routine things, but my fears were quickly put to rest. She asked questions and listened to everything I had to say - even though it was a lot to unpack after so long without regular annual appointments. I have nothing but great things to say about her and everyone I encountered at NSW. I'm so glad to have found her and plan to stay engaged and up-to-date with my health with their support.

Had a really good experience. I came in as a first time patient to treat an issue. While Dr. McMahon hadn't seen me prior and was operating without a baseline due to that, she was very attentive and quickly seemed to understand the issue. She made me feel more at ease than I typically do at a gynecology appointment. I initially scheduled here to get in and see someone asap, but after that experience will likely be switching my care to Dr. McMahon.
