About Dr. Wendy McDonald

Wendy Goodall McDonald, MD, is a caring and dedicated OB/GYN at Women’s Health Consulting IL, Chicago, providing care to women of all ages for general wellness, fertility concerns, pregnancy, and menopause. Dr. McDonald is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and she is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). She has advanced training in minimally invasive surgery and urogynecology.
Dr. McDonald earned her medical doctorate from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. She went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She is currently a member of the clinical faculty at Northwestern.
As a doctor, Dr. McDonald strives to provide holistic, patient-centered care informed by the best available research and clinical guidelines. When working with patients, she enjoys building intimate relationships and truly listening to her patients’ concerns so she has a better understanding of each woman’s unique desires and needs.

Dr. Wendy Goodall McDonald was fantastic as I heard she would be. I was able to get a last minute appointment and was so happy I did. If you have PCOS, you know how arduous the journey is from first signs of the disorder, to being formally diagnosed, and then finally getting proper treatment. Studies show it could take six doctors before someone with PCOS is properly diagnosed. For me, it took eight. So with that comes angst and anxiety around being truly heard about issues concerning your health. This visit was primarily to establish care as I am new to the city. Dr. McDonald listened attentively to my full health history and even though she didn't follow the same structure as my prior doctor, she said she would help to get me back on the routine because she saw how much it helped me. Even if that meant she had to do work on my behalf with the insurance companies. This was actually the best experience I've had with a doctor.

I have a lot of anxiety around Dr. appointments, particularly OBGYN but Dr. McDonald is wonderful and has a great bedside manner. She didn't try to push one solution my way but was more open to working through things holistically. I really appreciated it. I told her I was nervous and she was so kind. Highly recommend!

My visit with Dr. McDonald was like talking to a good girlfriend. She was patient, kind and listened to all my concerns. I did not feel rushed in my visit, which was important to me. She was very thoughtful in treating my concerns and asked how did I feel about the options she provided. Once we agreed on a treatment plan, we chatted briefly about life in general.
