About Dr. Lauren Davis

Dr. Lauren Davis received her undergraduate degree from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. She achieved her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Davis is a member of The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and past junior fellow chair and vice chair for District 12, section 4. Dr. Davis has a special interest in adolescent gynecology and infertility. She enjoys volunteering and mentoring at risk adolescents. She has volunteered with the Alpha House of St. Petersburg and the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association. Dr. Davis is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.

I went for a new patient appointment with the provider and expressed my concerns with the MA, (life + health stressors, extremely worried, etc) and when I was put in the room I heard the MA give the doctor a brief history on me, and I heard the doctor give a deep, disgruntled sigh. It was very disheartening and when the doctor came in the room I didn’t even want to be there anymore, that (UN)private interaction between her and her MA dismissed my concerns right then and there. Waste of money and time to know the doctor dismissed my concerns before I even said a word to her just based on what the MA said. Also humiliating.

First I just want to say there is a lack of black doctors here in the Tampa Brandon area and that's exactly what I was looking for. Not only did my OBGYN listen to me but she also gave me tools to help me and help prepare me for my next visit. The entire staff was very welcoming when I came in. Dr. Lauren Davis and the entire staff at Women's Care in Plant City was awesome! She listened to all my questions and concerns. She gave me a plan to follow to achieve my goal of having a healthy pregnancy. I plan on following up in a few months to continue the process to becoming pregnant.

First of all let me say my first impression was not good at all. The first thing I had to do was watch a video about how to sign a medical malpractice waver. That threw up so many red flags had I not been in my situation I would have walked out. It felt like they must do a bad job on purpose so they have you sign so they don’t lose the company. After that in the waiting aria all I could smell was dirty feet now idk why maybe dirty carpet maybe the birds I don’t know but I was getting scared. But then I met with Dr. Lauren Davis. What a freaking breath of fresh air! Like seriously. I am overweight and usually no matter what the issue is I get hounded about it. I’m well aware I am overweight but anyways she didn’t bring it up and treated me like a damn human. For Florida that is sooooo hard to find. You see I was already upset that I was having a blighted ovum miscarriage and worried about the first impressions. She examined me made sure I got tests I needed that day (no delays in treatment anothe breath of fresh air many drs drag on every damn step to get you in as many times as possible). I am rh negative so she made sure I got the rhogam shot in hopes my next baby didn’t have the same issue. She made sure I got the medication I needed and that I would be comfortable throughout the process. Sadly my insurance doesn’t pay unless you are pregnant and I couldn’t get in to see her personally within the week I have to see another dr again because of my situation not the office. I was a bit upset during check out but I think it’s because the girl was new and I almost didn’t get a follow up apt but the other office lady took charge and everything went ok. Because I got respect and care from the doctor herself I give this place 5 stars. I would normally take stars away because of the video (not exactly the first thing you wanna see when surgery may be on the table) I think I would have just signed the form and felt better to read it and not have the video. You guys may want to have the video as an option. Give a form to read (laminated) if they have questions then go towards the video. Because honestly had it been just a check up I would have left and wouldn’t have gotten the pleasure to meet with Dr. Davis and gotten the care I neede
