About Lisa Martin
Lisa Martin is a licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) certified as both a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. She performs examinations, procedures, orders tests, and prescribes medication in collaboration with Women’s Care physicians. Viewing the patient as a whole person, Ms. Martin focuses on wellness by educating patients about health and illness.
Ms. Martin has been a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 1995. She earned her Master’s of Nursing degree in Family Nursing from the University of Tampa in 1998. She holds NCC and ANCC national certifications in both specialties. Ms. Martin serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Tampa, where she teaches a graduate-level nursing course. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), and the Florida Nurse’s Association (FNA).
Originally from Iowa, Ms. Martin served in the United States Air Force, with her last assignment at MacDill AFB. She lives in Brandon with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and various crafts.

I had been seen at this practice by a different provider years earlier for my IUD placement which was a traumatizing experience. I was left alone diaphoretic, nauseous, vision blacking out and dizzy in the exam room and told to “hurry up and put myself together” because their “next appt was already waiting” so it took years for me to go back to the gyn to begin with. Today when going over my medical history the MA asked about my asthma and epilepsy, neither of which I have. She asked me four times if I was sure. Yes? I’m positive. I’ve been a critical care provider for ten years I think I would know my own medical history, which is extensive. They had none of it. When I was going over it with the NP she sighed, shook her head and said “I went to nursing school a LONG time ago so I didn’t have to type this much” so I stopped telling her my diagnoses after two. I will avoid this practice at all costs in the future. I suggest you do the same.

This nurse was extremely cold- zero compassion and didn’t explain what to expect with removal of IUD. She was more concerned on what I would be using for contraception rather than listening and explaining. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I waited a long time to be taken by a nurse who was pretty slow. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early which I did, then proceeded to was 45 minutes to be called and I was late to work. The NP was incredible and was very patient and explained everything! Would go back but definitely give yourself longer than you normally would because it seems like they keep people waiting!

I honestly appreciated how comfortable everyone made me feel. The wait time wasn't bad at all, I finished my paperwork around 2:30 and was seen and out by 3:10ish so I spent a little under an hour total

I thought the staff was very friendly even with difficult patients. The office was very clean and I saw them cleaning pens, boards, etc. The ARNP was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone. My only advice would be to make sure your insurance will cover your appt by them ahead of time. I have heard of some insurance issues. But overall probably my second favorite GYN office I’ve ever visited!

The APRN and her student both had amazing bedside manner by explaining the process, ensuring I did not have questions and set proper expectations for next steps. The nurse who checked my vitals and went over my medical history was very friendly and confirmed I was okay with the student being present during my visit. The women at the front desk were not pleasant. After turning in my paperwork, the one woman pointed out that I missed a signature. I did not sign it because it was to acknowledge that I received documentation I had not received. She responded in a sassy tone and did not understand why I wanted a copy of said paperwork. I took the opportunity to educate her that you should not sign paperwork stating you received something you did not actually receive. She then provided me the paperwork, laughed and responded with “here’s some light reading”. I was not being unreasonable and was not trying to be difficult. They tried to call me a few days prior to get additional info but calling back through their automated system is a nightmare. Thankfully I can request an appointment through Zodoc! Because this office is very big, it’s not a place I would prefer, but unfortunately, there are no smaller offices in the area.

I went here about a month ago and loved it. Lisa Martin was the nurse practitioner that I saw and she was very open-minded and caring. The only reason I had to wait was because I was a new patient and had to fill out some paperwork and watch a video about some safety procedures and laws. Otherwise, the wait wasn't very long, and the staff were courteous to me. This office really cares about both their employees and patients and I felt comfortable and okay with them.Lisa knew what she was doing and was able to figure out any ailments I had and prescribed me medication. She listened to my problems and believed me- which I think is important when speaking to a doctor. You know your body- the doctor is supposed to help you with it. With the prescribed medication, I followed all of the doses and they worked perfectly. Lisa obviously knew what and which medication to provide me based on what I told her. :)Lisa also did not berate me or get on my case like other doctors about my body, and was even nice about encouraging me to lose weight (my other doctor was very rude and crass about it). I highly recommend this place and seeing Lisa Martin, the nurse practitioner, because she is absolutely sweet and wonderful; I have recommended her to many people that I know.Any of the negative reviews here are severely outdated. My mother has been a regular at this office and she's always given it glowing reviews as well.
