About Dr. Nicholas Abrudescu

Dr. Nicholas Abrudescu has been board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 1990 and, when taking his written examination in 1988, received the special distinction of receiving the highest score in the United States. A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Florida Obstetrics and Gynecologic Society and the Central Florida Obstetrics/Gynecology Society, Dr. Abrudescu has also served on several Quality Assurance committees and was chairman of the Obstetrics/Gynecology Department at Florida Hospital Orlando in 1999. Dr. Abrudescu received his medical degree from the University of Bucharest School of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania. He then obtained a highly coveted and competitive position in General Surgery followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology in Bucharest. Upon coming to the United States, he completed another residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He has a special interest in urogynecology and completed a visiting fellowship in the field with Dr. D. Ostergard at Women’s Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California. Dr. Nicholas Abrudescu was named in the top 5 of Orlando’s Best OB/GYNs by Babyourself Magazine, Central Florida’s magazine for pregnant and new mommies.

Dr Abrudescu and the staff at Women’s Care on Corrine Dr in Orlando are professional, transparent, kind and helpful. From the first phone call until check out the process was efficient and easy. Dr Abrudeacu is very thorough. He listened to my concerns, gave me clear feedback and communicated very clearly. He has excellent bed side manner and at no time did I feel rushed. Dr Abrudescu is very professional and funny. I had my first pregnancy check up and booked Dr Abrudescu by chance. And i would say i am really lucky to be his patient. I am very grateful to have had Dr. Abrudescu as my OBGNY for the past 18 years! He is a fabulous, brilliant doctor who graduated at the very top of his class. He delivered my daughter 17 years ago and I always felt that I was in the very best and competent hands while in his care throughout my pregnancy. On a personal note, he is kind with an excellent bedside manner that has always made me feel valued as an individual patient. I can not think of a finer or more professional doctor than Dr. Abrudescu!
I have been a patient with Women’s Care Florida for almost 7 years and have seen almost every doctor during my time as a patient. During my pregnancy three years ago, I was 1000% certain I did NOT want a male doctor. During that time, I had been making my rounds meeting all of the doctors just in case my planned doctor was not around during my delivery. I ended up with an unplanned UTI and had to see the on call doctor, Dr. Abrudescu aka (Dr. A). As soon as I met Dr. A., I KNEW without a doubt he was MY DOCTOR!!! He is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable, gentle, doctors/person/human I have been lucky enough to cross paths with. I had a very challenging pregnancy, ended up needing to deliver 7 weeks early. During my delivery time Dr. A, was not the on call doctor, but to my surprise he walked into my labor and delivery room and all of my worry and concern went out of the window!! Not only did I finally feel comfortable in a challenging situation, I KNEW he had my best interest at heart. He gave my husband and I honest answers and recommendations. He performed an emergency c-section, delivered my beautiful daughters and stitched me up perfectly! I believe his quick thinking, knowledge, and decision making saved my life! I will forever be in debt to him for making the right calls about my health. I am not sure how someone could rate him below a 5. I’d rate him a 10+ if Google gave that option. I basically call him for everything as if he is my Primary Care provider. In addition to all of the above, he has the most gentle and quick pap and has remarkable bed side manner. All of his visits end in his office, where he speaks to you face to face and gives you time to asks questions. At the end of every appointment he walks me to the check out to ensure I get my next appointment scheduled and I’ve witness him do the same for other patients. I often refer patients to him and recommend my friends get pregnant before he retires! Thank you Dr. A! You are a TRUE GEM! My family thanks you for EVERYTHING you and your team has done to provide excellent care!
I am not entirely sure why folks have had such a hard time with this doctor. Dr. Abrudescu has been my OB/GYN for 15 years. Him and his wife delivered my twin boys, which he did even when he was not on duty that day just because I was very afraid to see any other doctor. I was so happy to have him deliver my boys and continue to be happy to have him as my general doctor. I would not want to go anywhere else.
Dr. A is absolutely amazing! I’ve had some very unpleasant experiences with doctors in the past at other locations but the staff here is awesome and Dr. A are one of a kind. He cares a about his patients, he listens to their concerns and he is always takes the time to go over results, and answer any questions they may have. I’m so glad I found him!
