Dr. Peyton Marr, DO, is a dedicated women’s healthcare specialist. With a passion for women's health, Dr. Marr has made remarkable contributions to medical education, research, and leadership in the field. After graduating with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019, she embarked on a journey that has led her to become a respected figure in her specialty.
Her medical journey started with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, along with minors in Child Development and Psychology, from Florida State University. Dr. Marr earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree with distinction. She then went on to complete her residency at AMITA Saint Joseph- Chicago. Notably, Dr. Marr's leadership capabilities shine through her involvement in the Mothers and Newborns Affected by Opioids (MNO) Initiative, which she helped establish at AMITA Saint Joseph Hospital. As a liaison between obstetrics and neonatology departments, she bridged communication and conveyed recommendations from the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative, demonstrating her commitment to patient care.
Dr. Marr's dedication to advancing medical knowledge is evident through her research endeavors. She designed and implemented a standardized induction of labor protocol at Saint Joseph Hospital, contributing to the reduction of cesarean section rates in first-time mothers with one fetus in the head-down position. Her meticulous work earned her first and second-place awards at the hospital's Annual Resident Research Day, displaying her analytical acumen and dedication to improving patient outcomes.
Additionally, her continuous pursuit of excellence led her to receive the SMFM Residency Program Award for Excellence in Obstetrics for the academic year 2021-2022.
