About Dr. Shonda Sheran

Dr. Shonda Sheran is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the Florida Medical Association and the Hillsborough County Medical Society. Dr. Perry was born in Philadelphia and raised in Miami. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from Florida State University, and her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She remained in Philadelphia for her residency, which she completed at Temple University Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Perry moved back to Florida to begin working in private practice in Fort Myers. She then worked as an ob-gyn hospitalist at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital in Tampa for seven years before returning to private practice with Women’s Care Florida. In her spare time, Dr. Perry enjoys weight-lifting, exercising and dancing. She also volunteers at her church as a Sunday school teacher and helps with the Meals on Wheels program.

A great experience! Came in for my first visit to get established and for my annual. The nurse was super friendly and took my information quickly, she also listened to all my concerns and made appropriate notes for the doctor and then proceeded to put me in a room right away, which was great! So not a long wait time at all. The doctor was absolutely amazing! She’s kind, listens, gave great advice and performed everything efficiently and professionally. Would highly recommend!

This was a new office & new OBGYN I tried bc it’s way closer to my house and my experience was a 10/10. The wait was probably about 45-50 minutes but I didn’t mind. Staff was very friendly, nice and helpful. Ms.Sheran was so sweet and informative, she gave me details on how to check my breast. I love her already! Also I believe the nurse practitioner was too and very helpful (I didn’t catch her name) but I loved her as well she was very communicative! I would say I found my new OBGYN home. I would definitely recommend 10/10 experience!

This is my second experience with this group. My first was five years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. The experience was so pleasant that when I needed to see a gynecologist I contacted them again. The facilities are clean, COVID measures are in place and the staff was very pleasant. The receptionist went out of her way to assure me the pens were cleaned afte reach use. She requested for me to return pen to her not in the cup I took it from so it could be sanitized.The only remotely negative experience I had was it took more than five weeks to get an appointment with Dr Perry. I could have seen another doctor two weeks earlier however, I decided to wait. I wanted to be seen by her because I had a great experience during the labor and delivery of my daughter. She is very knowledgeable and it is obvious she enjoys her profession

Having moved back to Tampa and finding my former ob/gyn retired I was tasked with finding a new doctor. I am a patient that reads lots of reviews and does her research. I found Dr. Shonda Perry of Women's Care Florida and was fortunate that they were accepting new patients.No one enjoys going for their annual check up but the office team and Dr. Perry made it a very easy and enjoyable visit. Dr. Perry is extremely friendly, pleasant and has a great bed side manner. I was very nervous going to a new doctor but her smile and personality really put me at ease.Additionally, they followed all safety protocols for Covid, including masks, proper spacing and cleaning. My first appointment here was great. The staff is nice and quite humorous. Dr. Shonda Perry is my preferred OB and she was also great! She gave me a quick rundown of the Do’s and Don’ts but also encouraged me to ask any and all questions since I’m a first time mom to be. I look forward to my next appointment - notebook and pen in hand!
Best decision I made choosing this practice during my pregnancy! We were happy with every doctor we met during our prenatal check ups! The office staff is always so nice and helpful! And the woman that did our ultrasounds was so fun and excited for us! Our birth ended up not going as planned due to complications, but Dr. Perry was so great and made us feel comfortable with the changes. I knew my son and I were safe with her! She is so caring and skilled at what she does. We are so grateful for her and this practice!
