About Dr. Leon Merrick
In 1999, Dr. Merrick became one of the first dentists in New York City to acquire and use the DLas300 dental laser at his practice. Since then, Dr. Merrick has continued to remain at the forefront of technology in dentistry.
In 1992, he helped establish the East Coast Dental Laser Symposium. Additionally, Dr. Merrick continues to perform his civic duties through his partnership with the world renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church as the Chairman of their Medical Ministry. Dr. Merrick continues to advance his dental expertise through active participation in continuing education and conferences all over the world including: parts of Europe and Canada to just to name a few.
Dr. Merrick makes it a priority to give back to his community through his annual involvement with the Colgate© Dental Van where he provides free dental care and education to inner-city youth. Dr. Merrick also active provides dental internships at his office to aspiring and current dental students who attend his alma mater, NYU.
A native New Yorker, Dr. Merrick proudly completed his Doctor in Dental Surgery at New York University. He resides in Harlem with his lovely wife, Gerri.

As always, my visit was great. Once I arrived, I was seen. All employees are professional and answer any questions asked with great detail. I have been seeing Dr. Merrick for the pass few months and always leave with confidence of the work that had been done

I am very fond of Dr. Merrick because he is excellent in his field. He is very knowledgable, well skilled, personable and his bedside manners are impeccable. Dr. Merrick is very patient and he understands the discomforts that comes with sitting in the dentist chair. Having him as my dentist, I am never afraid and the outcomes are always perfect. He is great for any age group and I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

I had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Merrick's office for the first time today for my preventive care cleaning and oral exam. I can confidently say that this was the best dental encounter I've ever experienced. Myrtle was my hygienist and not only did she immediately make me feel welcomed and comfortable, she took the time to educate me on how to properly maintain my oral health. Her touch was gentle yet effective and now my smile is sparkling white. Dr. Merrick was also very kind and thorough in his examination and as odd as it sounds, I am looking forward to my next appointment to the dentist.

I actually enjoy going to the dentists office after years of being completely terrified of it. Everyone who works in the office is friendly and congenial. The quality and comprehensiveness of care is unparalleled.

Dr. Merrick is a rare find in the medical field today. A doctor who is highly attentive, methodical, patient and kind. His office may not be the most high tech dentist office but you will feel cared for, listened to and get your problems solved. If I stay in NYC I will never go to another Dentist.
