About Dr. Joanne Murabito
Joanne M. Murabito, MD, is a primary care physician at Boston Medical Center (BMC), Co-Principal Investigator of the Framingham Heart Study (FHS), and Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospital, Boston, and holds a Master's in Epidemiology from Harvard University. Dr. Murabito also completed a fellowship at the Framingham Heart Study. She specializes in aging, longevity, reproductive aging, and the relation of these traits to health outcomes and gene discovery. An expert in genetic epidemiology, she leads the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomics Epidemiology (CHARGE) Aging and Longevity working group and the Reproductive Genetics (ReproGen) Consortium. Dr. Murabito's research focuses on identifying the determinants of healthy aging and longevity, as well as reproductive aging in the community.
