Patient Reviews for Dr. Frederick Ast - MD
Very honest and helpful with my condition. Especially since it was my first visit to an allergist ever.
Very professional and knowledgeable.
It was my first visit, and Dr. Ast is friendly and straight forward, spending his time fleshing out my background medical history and prioritizing my maladies. The visit was less than a half hour and I will be returning to see him in a few weeks.
Dr. Ast listened to my concerns, made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Office staff was very helpful and friendly and I didn't have to wait to get in to see the doctor.
Good explanation on symptom. Ask and explain how he checks symptom before he starts exam. Employees are all low key. Quite office.
A great allergy doctor.
Very good
Very nice, extremely understanding of my situation, and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Ast without hesitation.
Full explanation of illness. Fast administrative procedure.
I would say it was one of the best experiences I have had with a physician. He and his staff took their time to test for a number of conditions. He also performed an examination of my sinuses (put a scope down my nasal cavity), and it was very gently done.
it was very rushed, he was busy with other patients at the same time while seeing me. I felt like anything I asked he wrote out another referral for me to see someone else. Ended up walking out with 4 referrals which all cost more money.
The office was packed, the staff seemed bored when they spoke to me, and it took over an hour to see the doctor. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Excellent doctor, very easy going. Staff was also ver attentive and helpful. My insurance was accepted without any problems.
VEry good visit, i'm finally getting answers on my condition...
very pleasant.
He was very thorough with a good friendly manner. His staff is all very nice.
Dr Ast. was great, I would definitely recommend him. I waited less than half an hour (and only made the appointment earlier that day) and he was quick and efficient about diagnosing my problem.
Disclaimer: I visited Dr. Ast for an annual physical and, as such, I do not believe my review reflects upon his skills and abilities as a rheumatologist or as an allergist. The physical was mostly thorough, however I was told to conduct a self-examination of my more intimate areas, which I am typically accustomed to having done by the doctor (standard for a male physical exam). Also, while I mentioned my interest in having a full blood-work check when setting up the appointment, I was not instructed to fast before my exam. I realize I should have set my own reminder to fast, but I would have appreciated an email of phone call from the office. Dr. Ast was very kind, and again my review only reflects the one physical I had. He made a referral for a dermatologist and provided a long list of nearby offices I could use to schedule another appointment (through ZocDoc!).
Always a pleasure to see! Very knowledgable about everything!
I really liked Dr. Ast. He was informative, helpful, compassionate, and friendly. His staff is nice too. The office seemed slightly disorganized and out-of-date.
Very knowledgeable doctor that would explain everything thoroughly as much as he could. Took care to pay attention to all questions asked and was very detailed in his physical. Anything that was in another specialty he would recommend someone else rather than give a guess at the condition (I really like truthful people, it is better that he recommends a specialist than to pretend he knows everything). Made sure I was very comfortable and had intelligent conversation. He let me see the physical therapist in the building without any sort of extra charge
Amazing. Every professional. I called for a follow up and within 15 minutes on a Friday evening I received a call back. All his staff are amazing. They are very hands on with their patients. will recommend for everyone to go.
I went at lunch to see Dr. Ast and the wait time was very reasonable, which I was happy about. Dr. Ast is to the point, doesn't let you talk much but knows what he is talking about. After he makes his diagnosis, he boots you out the door, leaving little room or time for questions and answers (if you had any). Didn't get the impression it was a particularly thorough exam but I did take his advice and eventually got better. Dr. Ast is not the warmest/most reassuring person that will coddle you, so if that's what you need from a Doc, go elsewhere.
Frederick Ast is a nice man, i do like him. I thought he would have been more equiped and knowledgeable to do certain things like checking the circualtion in my legs, but he had told me he's not a vascular surgon. But i have co workers who went to their primary care doctor who have had their circulation checked in the legs, so i don't know ? But anyway he is ok in my book.
A great clinician! highly recommended
Doctor didn't introduce himself, and he proceeded to take client calls during my visit. Totally not cool. Seems like a good doc, but waiting when you have an appointment is annoying and the office should call to let you know they are running behind. If the Docs time is important, so is mine. I did like him, enough to go back.
Good doctor, very capable - office felt a bit cramped. The room I was in for the appointment was also used for lab work, so nurses came in and out during examination.
Dr Ast and his staff has always been wonderful to me!!! I highly recommend!!
Nice, friendly office, and Dr. Ast was a good listener and seemed very knowledgeable. He also brought in one of the therapists in his office, who I will likely go back to see, too. I may have finally found a good GP candidate near my office.
Really caring, kind, and thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Ast. His staff is friendly and helpful.
A very attentive, experienced, knowledgeable doctor.
He was very thorough in my consultation. I went for pain in my wrist, and I had a blood test done on the spot, he sent me for x-rays, and scheduled physiotherapy for a couple of days later.
I came to Dr. Ast with a 3 week old cough that woukldnt go away. Dr. Ast didn't dismiss me and throw a z-pack at me. He took time to go through all of my symptoms as well as do a variety of tests that could narrow down the cause of my cough right then and there. I left with a new understanding of my illness as well as information on how to treat it. Dr. Ast is really thorough and genuinely cares.
Great doctor, very personable and has a mastery of his profession. Highly recommend him.
Frederick seems like a nice guy - but for whatever reason... maybe it was the time of day - maybe it was his normal habit - but he just seemed disinterested... hasty to make a diagnosis and quick with the "uh huh - uh huhs"... like he wasn't really listening.
Dr. Ast is extremely thorough and made sure I understood the diagnosis and took the time to answer all of my questions.
I thought the doctor was borderline rude and clearly didn't have much time to talk/listen to me.
Dr. Ast was attentive to my needs and very nice. His staff is definitely less professional than I am used to, but I haven't had any major run-ins. Yet.
Very friendly and genuinly caring.
Very personable, caring and thoroough.
Dr. Ast is very knowledgable, thorough and personable. The problem is his staff. There's at least 4 or 5 ladies sitting behind the front counter but I've had to remind them 4 times to get something done. They are very rude and imcompetent!
Knowledgeable one stop for a primary care doc, distinct rheumatoid arthritic conditions, AND physical therapy. Don't be put off by the front desk staff, their attitude is not permanent, and they were extremely helpful with getting insurance issues handled. As someone who has had many docs, I highly reccommend this office. I even switched my Primary Care doc to be him...that is saying alot.
Thoroughly professional and well educated. Good doctor/patient behavior. Highly recommended.
Dr. Ast is a very kind and is easy to talk to. I was there for a physical, that I needed for my charity volunteer work and he was actually interested in hearing about it!
Dr. Ast was friendly, efficient, timely, and flexible for future appointments.
He was professional and friendly, and everything was handled in a timely manner.
the nurses were not the most professional at times, but I thought Dr. Ast was most helpful and answered my questions. I would probably be a return patient and recommend him to others.
To the point, professional.
I found the atmosphere professional yet friendly. I will be happy to have Dr. Ast as my doctor.
Very knowledgeable doctor,i felt very comfortable.
Dr. Ast was really easygoing and very personable. He and the other Dr. treated my Mono, even though the are allergists and rheumatologists. It was probably the sickest I have ever been, but the experience and the care I was given greatly appreciated.
