Dr. Lana Boter MD

Dr. Boter was warm, informative and easy to talk to. The front office staff wasn't terribly friendly but with no wait time and a pleasant visit with Dr. Boter I have no real complaints.

Dr Boter is absolutely great! She was very personable and had wonderful bedside manner. She answered all my questions and did not make me feel as if she was rushing through the appointment.

I love Dr. Boter! She has an excellent bedside manner and made the appointment feel like a conversation more than a physical exam. I'm so glad I found her!

The front office staff was just plain unprofessional and rude. Given that my wait was nearly 1 hour and 20 minutes, all I got was a stare and a cold "The doctor is busy" instead of sincere apologies and sympathetic attitude. It was unacceptable to have to wait that long period. The doctor herself was very nice, apologetic and had great bedside manner.

She's great and makes you feel comfortable right away.

I didn't have to wait that long, she was so nice, professional and wanted to cover everything that may cause a threat to you. It's nice to see that she trully does care. I went to her because I read the previous reviews, and I think she indeed is great and will definetly return to her in the future.

The receptionist was a little gruff when I first arrived and I waited around 30 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I saw the doctor, but Dr. Boter was great. She has a great bedside manner, is patient and extremely efficient. I will be going back.

I liked Dr. Boter, but the wait time was terrible. I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early, and wasn't called until an hour after my appointment time. The office condition was not very nice either. If it weren't for the wait time and office condition I would recommend Dr. Boter.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Boter. After seeing other GYNs that made me feel rushed or not heard or tense, Dr. Boter made me feel like the complete opposite. She carefully took my medical history, asked questions, and was so happy to answer all of mine. She chatted with me about what I do for a living, about my neighborhood, and overall just made me feel so comfortable and like someone I would want to be friends with. It was the quickest (in the best sense of the word, I never felt rushed), easiest GYN exam of my life. I wish all of my doctors were like her!

Secretly, I always hate the annual ob/gyn check up. But Dr. Boter was wonderfully pleasant and efficient, and made the appointment comfortable. She answered my questions knowledgeably, and gave me referrals for other check-ups I may need. Wait time was very minor (maybe ten minutes), and she even apologized for it. This was a very good experience, and I'll definitely go back.

Dr. Boter was fine, although a little rushed. I don't know that I'll be going back though. The exam room and office was cramped (I honestly didn't feel like there was room for both of us) and could use some serious TLC. I haven't seen a metal speculum in oh...ever, and things seemed generally a bit outdated. The restroom was the size of a closet with a stained toilet seat that would seriously take $20 to replace and make a world of difference. There were no paper towels to dry one's hands and the whole effect was a little unsanitary, especially coupled with old school metal instruments. Also, once in the exam room there was nowhere to put your clothes once you undressed. Not even a chair. I ended up stashing them in my purse. Generally not the sort of experience I'm looking for at the doctor.

I really liked my experience with Dr. Boter. She was very welcoming and really took the time to sit down with me and get to know me and my health history. Not once did I feel rushed or like she was just going through the motions. To her, I was the only patient of the day. The nurse greeted me right away and was also very personable. I would easily recommend her. The office was very clean and quiet.

Dr. Boter was lovely! She apologized for the wait, which wouldn't have been so bad if i wasn't already in a paper gown (chilly!), and didn't rush through the appointment. She was very personable and made me feel extremely comfortable. It was such an improvement from the last OB-GYN I went to, that I can't say enough good things about Dr. Boter!

Dr. Boter is really really good. And I've been to a lot of gyns, because I've moved a lot in the last few years. She is a great listener, never judgmental or trying to force me to try new pills/methods etc. she took a complete family history and asked me lots of questions at the appt. And was very thorough. Never felt rushed or anxious at all, and I always have anxiety at the gyn for whatever reason. Her entire staff wad kind and understanding and so nice! yes, I did have to wait about 45 minutes after my appt because they were running behind- BUT it was well worth it because she was so genuinely caring, I felt like she heard my concerns and gave me great advice. It's hard to find a gyno you feel comfortable with in NYC, believe me.... But she is 10/10. very professional and great bedside manner. Highly recommend.

Dr. Boter was very friendly and professional. The office staff is pleasant, too. The offices are a little dumpy, but the professional character of the staff makes me think that's more a problem of the old building than cleanliness. I would definitely recommend Dr. Boter!

This was my first time seeing Dr. Boter and was in to get an annual check-up. I had a few questions about birth control pills and other things, and not only did she answer my questions and quell my concerns, she brought up the answers before I even had a chance to ask - showing she really keeps up on what patients see in the news and has an opinion. I really appreciated it because my last GYN pretty much threw up her hands and didn't offer what I considered to be a balanced view when I told her my same concerns - that is why I stopped seeing her. In the few minutes I spent with Dr. Boter (which I felt was adequate and not rushed)she asked me questions about myself (not only my medical history) in an effort to get to know her patient. Dr. Boter is very approachable, knowledgeable and appears to be capable. I will definitely be seeing her as my GYN going forward.

I just moved to the city and finding a good gyn was really important to me. Dr. Boter was absolutely amazing. She took a lot of time to listen to my concerns, to explain what she was doing, and to give clear and comforting instructions. Even though she said that no news was good news for any tests, she still took the time to call and let me know that everything was fine. I have already recommended her to all my girl friends!

Dr. Boter is brisk, friendly, and observant. Before my appointment, I was a little worried: it's hard to get someone on the phone if you have a question, and the building has zero curb appeal. I was pleasantly surprised - I found the doctor and her staff to be pleasant and efficient during my annual exam and pap smear.

Dr.Boter is an amazing DOCTOR I knew her from before she helped me deliver my son who is now 10 years old and I tried following her but due to my insurance I couldn't finally I looked for her and found out she takes my insurance and I am back under her wings. Best doctor I've had in a long time!

I really like Dr. Boter, she has a great bedside manner and really listens to the patient and asks a lot of questions. She seems genuinely concerned about my health. I rated her 5 stars because of my experience with her, but I think that the office could use a facelift in appearance. I'd have a hard time recommending this place to friends without a disclaimer that the place looks worse than it actually is: the office furntiure is old and shabby, as well as the floors and walls. Also, the receptionist had a very apathetic attitude. I did not feel welcome until I met the nurse and Dr. Boter. She deserves staff with better client facing skills!

I liked Lana a lot - she made me comfortable, which was a huge relief after a particularly bad gyno appointment last year. She took time to talk to me and make sure I felt comfortable during the exam. My only complaint is that the woman at the front desk acted cold and disinterested. When I asked her if I'd filled out the forms correctly, she just asked me to leave my insurance card and said nothing further. Despite the cold welcome, I will definitely go back to Dr. Boter.

Dr. Boter was very friendly and answered all my questions pretty thoroughly. As a medical provider she is good; however she diagnosed me with an infection and performed my annual pap, but didn't follow up on anything. The wait time was awful and the facilities were really old and worn, so I'll probably try another gyn next time.

I went to see Dr. Boter as a first-time patient to discuss birth control options. She was very easy to talk to, patient and knowledgeable. The office building is a bit old but her offices are fine. The receptionist was pretty typical of most doctor's offices - unsmiling and cold - but the nurse was warm and pleasant as was Dr. Boter. I definitely plan to return for my next annual exam.

I have absolutely no complaints about Dr. Boter - she herself is wonderful. However, the receptionist needs to learn what is appropriate office attire. She was in jeans with her thong hanging out, and a tank top with her bra straps hanging out. She would have looked inappropriate even walking down the street.

Dr Boter was one of the best doctors I've had. Other doctors left me with questions but Dr Boter left nothing out and was very informative. I met Dr. Boter when I thought that I may have serious cervical disease. I was a nervous wreck and very frustrated with my previous ob-gyn. Entering Dr. Boter's office, I immediately felt welcome and at ease. She calmly discussed all my test results from my previous doctor with me (which my previous doctor had never done) and set my mind at ease. She described the next test she needed to do in detail, but kept me calm at the same time. She really made feel comfortable with the whole process and with her. Dr. Boter is opinionated, which may not sit well with other people, but I would prefer she give me her well educated and strong opinion. She is never rude about her opinion, nor is she not flexible about changing her treatment plan to suite her patient, but she will let you know what she recommends without hesitance. OBGYN appointments can be awkward to say the least. Luckily, Dr. Boter is incredibly personable and informed; she put me at ease quickly and made the extra effort of explaining everything. Best of all, the procedure was done quickly and efficiently. The wait was also negligible -- I was in and out in under an hour.

Dr. Boter is one of the best doctors who has ever cared for me. She doesn't rush you, wants to get all the pertinent information, and has a very gentle and calm bedside manner. I usually hate going to the gynecologist and dread it, but Dr. Boter put me at ease - I couldn't believe that I didn't feel discomfort or pain from the exam (which I always have with other doctors). I would recommend her to any woman.

Dr. Boter was absolutely fabulous and I completely recommend her. I was late for my appointment and she happily fit me in. And she spent a lot of time with me, explaining what I needed to know in as much detail as I wanted. She never rushed me or made me feel silly for asking a question, and the ambience in her office was quite pleasant too. I would highly recommend her to all.

I have never been made to feel more comfortable by a Gynocologist. I was nervous going to see her and she was so kind, proficient, helpful and easy to talk to. Plus I couldn't even feel the Pap smear. I would recommend EVERYONE go to her.

I've been shopping around for an ob-gyn in New York for 10 years now- I had not found one that I would want to go back to until today. Dr Boter was excellent- she's friendly and kind. The exam was as comfortable as it could possibly be, she answered any questions I had and made me feel at ease.

I was extremely pleased with Dr. Boter. I had an excellent experience with her and would highly recommend her. The only complaint I had was that I wish she had let me know that the lab work I agreed to have her run would be so expensive. My insurance didn't cover it, and I would not have done the tests had I realized they would cost over a thousand dollars.
