Attentive conversation in office before exam. Listened to my med background, asked relievant questions. Made a reasonable prognosis. Exam was thorough, done in confident manner. Took his time, no rushing. Left feeling he understood my problem and put me on the right path to resolving my condition.

He was wonderful. Very considerate to how nervous and concerned I was. Listened to all my questions and answered them thoroughly and was open and honest about my options. He was very professional and wasn't a stiff which I enjoyed.

I went to Dr. Shawl to get a second opinion about a deviated septum operation. It was immediately clear that he is the perfect surgeon to do the job; through, personable and highly professional. During weekend following the recovery Dr.Shawl was 100% available to me. The surgery was a success! I can finally breath from my right nostril. I highly recommend Dr.Shawl if you need any serious procedure and otherwise. In addition his office manager was externally helpful in dealing with insurance matters and scheduling.

I experienced hearing loss due to a large amount of sand in my ears from a surfing trip...Dr. Shawl was able to get most of it out including part of a sea shell! He was very good at listening to me and suggesting ways to keep my ears happy and healthy.

This professional does not have the equipment to test hearing so he sent me to an audiologist instead. I still had to pay him for the 5 minutes of service and I had to pay the audiologist as well. I found the audiologist more helpful for my needs.

I caught a cold and lost hearing in my right ear due to wax blockage. Dr Shawl used an ear vacuum to remove the wax and I could hear perfectly. He even checked the other ear which I kept saying was fine but he checked it anyway. Lo and behold it had lots of wax as well. He removed it and I could hear better! I didn't even notice I had lost hearing because of in comparison to not hearing anything at all in my right ear. He explained things would seem louder than normal for the next day or so and explained why I get more ear wax than other people. He even went over my general health history. I definitely recommend!

A knowledgeable specialist in a very nice office. I used to go to the NY Eye & Ear Infirmary on 14th Street but there was always a three-hour wait. I was happy I found this doctor through a link on their site.

This was my first visit to Dr. Shawl and I would highly recommend him. I didn't have to wait to see him and he is office is extremely professional. He took the time to answer all my questions and even gave me a generic prescription so I wouldn't have an expensive co-pay.

Went in for some ENT stuff because I needed an urgent appointment and my usual ENT doctor had a month wait time. Got in the same day. I was a little nervous about the appointment, but Dr. Shawl was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I'd definitely go back.
