Dr. Moushumi Shoma Datta MD

I liked Dr. Datta. Great bedside manner and she was very gentle throughout the entire exam. However, the wait to see her was rather long.

She is very kind and obviously quite smart!

My first visit went off very well. Doc was patient at addressing all questions and concerns I had and offered some good advice. She helped me relax and was also extremely gentle with the exam. The office staff was polite and attentive as well.

I waited for an hour and a half to see the nurse and another twenty minutes to see the doctor. The nurse was unpleasant and rude to me and while Dr. Datta was nice, she gave me yes or no answers to my important, detailed questions. I felt that she was trying to rush me out of the office and that she either lacked knowledge or was too busy to give me thorough information.

Dr. Datta was friendly and efficient; however, the wait time (over an hour) left something to be desired, and I felt a little rushed once I actually got into the examination room.

Dr. Datta was extremely friendly and professional. I was expecting the appointment to be more thorough though-- she was in the room for about three minutes before the nurse took over. The wait time was extremely long. Make sure to bring a book with you.

Very quick once I got a room.

She is never available! She cancelled an appointment and it was impossible to get re-scheduled because the wait time on the phone was so long I gave up. I needed to have a prescription changed and I called and left multiple messages, which she never responded to. Now I've found out that she is only available Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you'd like an attentive doctor, look elsewhere!

I think she's so wonderful that even though I will no longer be nearby with my job location, I will commute from Brooklyn to continue to see her!

Dr. Datta is very polite, professional, and attentive. However, she seemed like she was in a rush and did not give me a time to ask questions. I wish she had just asked, "any other questions or concerns?". But overall, great experience!

Good doctor but the wait is a solid 90 minutes. Waiting room was packed, people sitting on the floor and - over heard patients saying that it is always that way. Would not recommend unless u have a solid 2 hours to commit

Dr. Datta was wonderful - very friendly, warm, and easy to talk to. I didn't have any trouble asking her questions. She took the time to explain multiple courses of treatment to me and I didn't feel rushed at all. She encouraged me to return for a follow-up appointment if I have any further issues. I will definitely see Dr. Datta again!

Dr. Datta is very knowledgeable and she is a wonderful doctor. However, I wish the waiting time was shorter. After changing into a gown, I waited 45 minutes for her to arrive!

Dr. Datta is a wonderful GYN physican. She has a wonderful bedside manner, very professional is explaining test results etc. She recently did surgery on me for fibroid & cyst. She definitely knew what she was doing, just like the reports I read on her. I have referred her to other friends & family who need the same surgical procedure (laprocopic). She was also professional is her follow ups after my surgery to make sure all was well with me. :)

She's great! I picked her out of a listing of doctor's and went back... again and again... She's very gentle, personable and thorough... I don't feel bad asking her any questions!

It was a hassle-free visit from beginning to end. Dr. Datta is professional and has an excellent bedside manner. I will be recommending her to friends. I read reviews that the waiting time was long but my visit took 1 hour which is the average time I spend at any doctor's office.

The doctor was wonderful - courteous, professional, informative. I waited in the waiting room for very little time - just enough to fill out my paperwork. However I waited in the examination room, half undressed, for over 20 minutes before the doctor came to see me. Luckily the room was at a comfortable temperature!

Dr. Datta was very professional and nice, but the office itself was a little dingy, and there were bits of medical wrappers, etc on the floor. Didn't feel very sanitary - not the feeling one hopes for in an obgyn.

Dr. Datta is a really nice person and helps you sincerely with everything. She manages everything so that you feel quite comfortable at her office. And the staff at the reception always smiles too

Other than the waiting time, it was good. She had a professional and friendly attitude and made me feel confortable consulting my sensitive issues.

I really liked Dr. Datta--- she was informative and very professional. However, the wait was too long (45 minutes) and it's been nearly a month literally since my visit and I still have not gotten any results. I called the office and they promised a call back-- but still nothing. Very disappointed. Will try calling again and see if I can get my results...

Very nice doctor. The wait time was too long. Even after they call you in the office to get dress, you're waiting for sometime before you can see her. I like her mannerism and she seems to be informative.

I had to wait nearly two hours to see the doctor. For the life of me, I can't fathom the rationale of making an appointment you know you can't keep. I find it rude to keep people waiting for so long. That having been said, Dr. Datta herself was very professional and efficient. She answered all my questions and finished the examination quickly. If she were available when I was actually scheduled to see her, I would go back.

She seemed to very impatient and rushed. I didn't enjoy the visit and prefer a doctor who listens to your needs. I felt as if I was a faceless "appointment" that she was trying to efficiently get through but not engage with. Perhaps for those who are in a hurry this will work for them.

Dr. Datta was great! Her bedside manner made me feel very comfortable. She is very thorough in her check up. I felt that I was in good hands.

Short version: Dr Datta got the job done. The office is dingy & dirty. Long version: Dr Datta is pleasant. She spent a total of 5-10 minutes with me. That includes the obligatory verbal healthy screening and physical exam. I had noted on my intake that I had vaginal discharge, yet she never brought it up. It’s my fault that I didn’t press, but honestly I was ready to leave at that point. Timeliness: I originally had an 6:15 appointment and I called to see if I could come in earlier. They said I could come at 4:45p. I arrived at 4:30. 5:00pm I was taken into a room and my blood pressure was taken. 5:20pm Dr Datta came in and took the verbal health screening. At 5:25 she told me to get undressed and put my gown on and that she would be right back. Twenty minutes later, at 5:40pm, she arrived back to perform my exam. By 5:45 we were finished with the exam and she told me the nurse would be in to take some blood. The nurse came in and found me changing into my dress and said she’d be back in 3 minutes. 10 minutes later she appeared and took my blood. Cleanliness: This place is dirty and dingy. The lobby walls are dirty and scratched up and in some areas have actual water bubbles nearly as big as my outspread hand. The carpet is stained. There is actually a filing cabinet with no top casing! It’s wide open! The Bathroom had no seat covers, the mirrors were peeling on the edges, wall were cracked and dirty (I could actually see the drywall!), and there was a clear garbage bag that held the urine sample bottles with a hole punched in the middle for ‘easy access’. There was also a cup for magic markers on the beat up sink. The patient room I was in was just as dingy, with dirty walls and scratched up floors and peeling linoleum. The was a photocopy of a June calendar that was taped on to the wall and also a large Nuvo Ring poster that was taped and stapled directly onto the wall. The worst was that there was a SteriGage on the floor and a cotton tipped applicator on the floor. No one ever picked it up while I was in there. What does that say about the staff?

I highly recommend Dr. Datta, she is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.

Dr. Datta was very accomodating. She made you feel comfortable and the appointment was very quick and right to the point. I would definitely go to her again.
