About Dr. Alice Mendelson

Dr. Alice Mendelson attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduation, Dr. Alice served in the Israeli Army and attended medical school at the Hebrew University School of Medicine. After completing medical school, Dr. Alice went on to her residency at Hadassah Hospital. Dr. Alice practices general orthopedics in our Livonia office and has a special interest in women’s unique bone and joint concerns. She collaborated with other practice specialists including rheumatology, nursing, and physician assistants to help create a fracture prevention and post fracture care program called “Own the Bone”. Dr. Mendelson has been voted by southeast Michigan’s medical professionals as Hour Detroit magazine’s Top Docs in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Dr. booked was for elbow/arm online, repeat visit for little league arm with different provider because sports med Dr. Cancelled a week prior. Provider treated us as a number, perception was they wanted to quickly cash a check with little conversation and below avg bedside manner. Little to no advice with no follow up x ray to confirm progress/findings. Opposite experience with PT the last 6 weeks regarding progress and guidance. "If arm hurts rest", wow - enlightening lol.
Staff was professional and knowledgeable. Questions that were asked, I received answers that made sense to me. The office seems to have all the equipment that is needed/required in one location eg., X-ray, MRI , physical therapy can all be handled in one location, which is great for the patient. The patient will not have to drive to various locations.????
I waited for about 45 minutes, when she came in she was way too close to me, I came in for a hip issue so they took X-rays of both my hip and my spine. Come to find out she didn’t see anything wrong so she was going to have me go to physical therapy, and then a follow up appointment later with her. Had to wait 20 days just to go to the physical therapy and I ended up going to a chiropractor closer to my house and I told him about coming here and he gave me so many answers, where with the orthopedic doctor she had me lay down for my X-rays (relaxed position) to where my chiropractor had me standing up, come to find out my spine is leaning to the left (which you can’t see while laying down for an X-ray) which was causing my spine to be pinching a nerve that would shoot down my leg causing me to limp. So if you have a hip issue that could possibly be related to a spine issue, would highly not recommend this doctor as she was literally about to have me pay so much money to go to physical therapy when that wouldn’t have fixed my issue not knowing what was wrong. The nurse that came in before her though was absolutely amazing, so friendly, and sweet!

Thoroughly enjoy the experience the front desk people were courteous, efficient, and friendly. My wait time was maybe 7 minutes at the most. I had to have x-rays and the technician was awesome. Very very friendly. The whole staff thoroughly enjoyed them. The doctor was awesome. She explained everything thoroughly that I wanted to know she listened to my concerns. I am paranoid of needles and she made sure that I was comfortable. She didn’t rush. I would definitely urge my friends if they had any problems to go see her. She deserves a tan in my book or even higher.
