About Dr. Stephen Mendelson

Dr. Stephen Mendelson has a wide array of orthopedic expertise. In addition, he offers a unique, drug-free solution to knee arthritis pain with Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS). Mendelson graduated from the University of Michigan before pursuing his Medical Degree from Wayne State University. After graduating, Dr. Steve completed his residency at Wayne State University and a research fellowship at the Hadassah Hospital in Israel. Dr. Steve has a wide array of orthopedic expertise and practices general orthopedics in both our Warren and Livonia Locations. Dr. Mendelson offers an alternative to the traditional hip replacement, called an Anterior Hip Replacement. He has a special interest in working with shoulders and emerging technologies for the treatment of orthopedic injuries. Dr. Steve serves as the Medical Director of the St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital Hip and Knee Unit. He and his wife Alice have 3 children and live in the city of Huntington Woods. Dr. Mendelson has been voted by southeast Michigan’s medical professionals as Hour Detroit magazine’s Top Docs in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Everything about Mendelson/Kornblum Dr. Steve : excellent staff, office , X-Ray tec, and PA WERE SO FRIENDLY. There were about to get me in within the next day, Did X-rays, called in steroids, gave me a sling. Appt w MRI 2 days, and appt booked next one week. They’re fantastic!

I booked an appointment to see Dr. Medlson( orthopedic surgeon ), but someone else ( PA) came with no explanation for why I couldn't see him. With all due respect, I should be notified why? Since I am a retired physician and familiar with my condition I felt that I wasted another day while I am in agony because of the unbearable pain.
