“She’s great! For the first time I actually met with someone who I think cared and listened to me. Very insightful and she made sure to explain everything, made sure to give me all the information needed about my meds and any possible interactions. It’s hard to reach out to someone for help mentally but she made it easy and painless. I will definitely see her again! ”

The office asked for my insurance and I was told everything was all set, only to receive a huge bill after. I was informed in the meeting that I didn’t provide the right information, which I would of corrected if I knew about it before. From the very start, when my video was loading correctly she tried to dismiss me. Every time I would try to answer a complicated answer she responded that I was being evasive. Our whole conversation came off like she was suspicious of me, very cold. She would let me try to explain something and then tell me afterwards that I wasn’t answering the question, but I was trying to provide context for my answer - it was all just very passive aggressive. Everything felt difficult and not like a partnership. Would not recommend.

Dr. Marcia Jarvis gives superior care. SUPERIOR. She is engaged, cares, insightful, thoughtful, patient, and present. I have been thru many, many, many awful providers -- they are either not listening, rushing, rude, judgmental, or quickly prescribe meds that aren't appropriate. For example, Dr. Park at Elevate Medical (33 W 19th St. Fl 4, NYC 10011 was AWFUL, she looked stressed and frustrated and was so mean. Then, she quickly prescribed 3 or 4 different meds). All I really needed was one low dosage and one significant life style change that Dr. Jarvis made me realize. I will never use anyone other than Dr. Marcia Jarvis.

Marcia Jarvis was amazing, and super patient. This was something I should have done long ago but was always afraid to tell people I needed help. Everyone relies on me to be strong, and I just didn’t want to let anyone down. It was only my first discussion, and there was definitely some verbal diarrhea and tears, but oh my gosh it felt so good to have someone to talk to and actually hear me. It was the validation that it is okay to ask for help, and it is okay to verbalize the fear, concern, and need that helped to begin to lift the weight off my shoulders - which I have been carrying and trying to battle on my own. I’ve kept so much bottled up for so long and I’ve really been struggling for the last 6-8 months. I felt like I was going to snap in half. Even at the end of the call, I was already feeling better and able to breathe. Marcia gave me some steps to focus on, and I am committed to that. I highly recommend Marcia Jarvis, and I am looking forward to our next call.

I came here to establish care & possibly get on a different medication as my current one isn't working for me. Instead, I was interrogated for an hour, told I wasn't "forthcoming" unless I divulged a painful, scary experience from 17 years ago, and was promptly judged. I was told that clearly, there was something wrong with me instead of the psychiatrist I had at the time (I was a child then) & that she couldn't help me unless she found out what I was taking 17 years ago for the 3 months while under his care. She questioned everything I told her, told me "nothing added up" (??), and that I *should* change prescriptions, but I didn't seem ready to give it up. (??) I have anxiety & ADHD. That's it. That's all it has ever been. With my anxiety getting worse, it's been hard to take the steps to find better help. I cried to my husband for 30 minutes after this video call. I've never felt so ashamed to be me. This was a painful experience for no. reason.

I thought the provider explained things clearly, she encouraged a gradual approach to deal with my issues so that any changes can be lasting and maintainable

I felt very safe and comfortable during my session. I also felt heard. I liked that i was given options and had a lot of freedom to talk

The appointment started well and was on time, it was a telehealth appointment. The office was very communicative and assisted me in ensuring everything that needed to be done before the appointment was done. I can tell that Dr. Jarvis is well educated and knowledgeable about mental health, however, instead of hearing that I had received the same diagnosis from multiple doctors over the years, and was simply seeking a new doc to continue the treatment, as my prior doc stopped taking my insurance, she doubted my diagnosis. I have been diagnosed since a child. I do not doubt it. Treatment works for me, and I have gone through trials of using different medications to find what works for me, and finally found something that worked for me. Though I understand that Docs need to be sure before prescribing medication, and they don't need to go by their client's word, I also don't want to work with a mental health practitioner who doesn't believe me or listen to me.
