Residing in New York, he quickly excelled in school, graduating at the top 1% of his high school class which paved the way to a full scholarship at Cornell University, where he graduated cum laude. Dr. Benjamin received his medical degree from the prestigious Duke University School of Medicine in 1994. While at Duke, Dr. Benjamin was one of the researchers working on the development of an artificial retina. After completing an internship at the Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Benjamin acquired his ophthalmology training at the world renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute, at the UCLA School of Medicine. As a resident at UCLA, Dr. Benjamin was actively involved in a number of research projects on Uveitis, effects of HIV on the eye, CMV retinitis, and Ocular Blood Flow.

The wait seemed eternal. I worried about the expensive ticket I might have been getting while waiting FOREVER to be seen. Garage parking is around $20 (they don't validate) and therefore out of the question, so street parking is a must (and very difficult to find). Basically the staff is polite, but there was much chaos in general. Staff members kept coming in the examining room asking questions of other staff members and disrupting MY time (which I waited a long time for), there were about 6 interruptions in all. The doctor is pretty cool and everyone is nice, but I wish they wouldn't book so many people for the same appointment (we all waited together for the same appointment)...why not just call this what it is...a walk-in clinic where you sit and wait your turn. If only I spoke Russian, I would have had a conversation with the other 11 people waiting with me.

Dr Benjamin was great, the staff very excellent, the facility was very nice as well. Had a bit of trouble parking in that area, so give yourself some extra time. After my eye exam from his lovely and very professional assistant, I had to wait a bit before the Doctor came in, but other than that it was a very good experience.

Dr. Benjamin is great! He is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He examined my eyes and laid out all my options before prescribing a treatment that he explained carefully to me and made sure I understood. I found him on ZocDoc without knowing anything about him, but like all of my recs from ZocDoc, he was great.
