Dr Bailyn was friendly and knowledgable. I didn't feel rushed at all, and he answered all of my questions and put up with even the stupid questions.

I thought it was a great friendly first visit. Everyone was very cordial and the Doctor seem to be very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to.

Maybe it's because I was just coming off a terrible experience with another doctor, but Dr Bailyn was the best!! Super nice, genuinely listened to me, and just seems really competent. Everything in the office is digitized, to the point where I didn't Even have to get a physical prescription-the receptionist just sent it right to my pharmacy. Office is really nice, clean, good selection of CURRENT magazines, and even a water cooler in the waiting room. And they piped soothing classical music into the exam room, which was also furnished with some nice plants and cool (read:real, not from Marshall's) art. just got a good feeling from the whole experience, highly recommend.

Dr. Bailyn is efficient and personable -- he was able to give me a correct (albeit not so pleasant) diagnosis in a professional and empathetic manner, helping me get the treatment I needed to fully recover. His support staff is also great -- warm, friendly, and professional!

I've been seeing Dr Bailyn for a few years now. He is talented, runs an efficient office and he's a super-nice guy. I see him max once a year but he always remembers me. His staff is also very nice. They got my request for labwork Rx so that I wouldn't have to return for a second visit. It's a top-notch operation. Highly recommend.

Good Doctor takes the time to talk to you and make your concerns feel valid. Does not rush to give you medication but first narrow down the problem before moving forward.

They were running a bit behind when I arrived, but then so was I. And they seemed genuinely sorry about it and mentioned that they were "getting caught up", whereas most doctors' offices, in my experience, simply take it for granted that they run 20-30 minutes behind. The receptionist was pleasant and the office was clean, bright, and open. Dr. Bailyn was pleasant, knowledgable, and thorough. Rose the nurse was quick, cheery, and helpful. I was in and out within about 45 minutes. They also seem rather modern... will email me my results, I could fill out my paperwork online prior to the visit, make appointments online, etc. I'll be going back.

Dr. Bailyn was running about "10 minutes behind", which was really more like 20. Standard for Doctors, I suppose. Had a pleasant chat with the sassy nurse, Rose and then the Doctor. The physical was pretty basic, actually, and much quicker than I remember in years past. Still, he listened to my various ailments and suggested some courses. All in all a good visit and a good guy. The only quirk I can remark on is that the office is in a shared floor (as many offices in New York are), and thus the restrooms are all the way down the hall, away from the practice. It's a bit awkward carrying a jar of pee down this hall, and passing people along the way. Also, I'm surprised a medical practice doesn't have an in-house bathroom.

I searched all over the internet for ratings on NYC doctors and wound up on ZocDoc. I recently moved to NYC at the end of 2011 and needed a Primary Care Physician. After reading a bunch of reviews about Dr. Bailyn, I set up my appointment on ZocDoc. It was painless and I got a reminder email yesterday about my appointment. Some great things....You can print your paperwork for your visit in advance (which made the wait time much shorter). They have an online 'web portal' that allows you to update contact info, communicate with the office, and view test results all online. Love that. I was seen right away by Rose, who was extremely friendly and kind. I had to wait 15-20 minutes between when Rose left and when Dr. Bailyn saw me. However, once he did, he was extremely kind, knowledgable, and it didn't once feel like he was trying to hurry to the next patient. Was kinda going out on a limb (even though I had the other reviews to back it up) and I'm very happy with the results. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bailyn to anyone looking for a quick visit (in and out in less than an hour for an annual physical) but with great results.

Dr. Bailyn is as warm and friendly as his photo on ZocDoc portrays. The office is clean & very comfortable, his staff @ the front desk is fantastic & his nurse (Rose) is simply the friendliest person you'll ever meet! I'm sorry for leaving out one item, all are #1 above all, PROFESSIONAL! Personally, I can't wait to feel ill again in order for an excuse to go back!!!

Very focus on making sure whatever you are there for is address. Staff is wonderful and attentive. Even though it was the end of the day i was seen very quickly (i made sure all my paperwork was filled out before i came in to speed things up). All in all for a first visit it was handled very well, seems like they run a tight ship. Also wonderful they are involving technology into their practice to keep us informed and keep communication open.

I guess there is nothing to complain about at all. The building is great, the receptionist nice, nurse (Rose I think?) was extremely friendly and put me right at ease, and Dr. Bailyn was very informative and friendly. It's not a problem at all to wait a little for that kind of service. Not to mention they are technology-friendly in that they will send you emails or notify you of results on a patient portal, which keeps everything in order.

A mixed bag here...this is my second time seeing Dr. Bailyn and as before, the doctor is fantastic. Great bedside manner, knowledgeable, friendly...in short, everything you want from a doctor. However, I found the nurse who took care of me to be absolutely rude and condescending. When she asked me why I came in, I told her I just wanted bloodwork and a general consultation. She repeated the exact same question and when I gave the same answer, she berated me for not being more specific. At no point did she give me any options or suggestions to better describe what I wanted; instead she condescendingly lectured me on how unhelpful I was being. Then she yelled at me for not immediately knowing my dosage on my medications (though I had given the information to them on my last visit). Unreal. I work a stressful job already and the last thing I need is someone being rude to me for not understanding medical terms of art. I really like Dr. Bailyn, but not sure I want to repeat the guantlet of his office staff to see him again.

I can't say anything on here that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers. Dr. Bailyn is truly the best. I love that he is always friendly and is curious about YOU, not robotic like other doctors may be. I absolutely love Rose (his nurse) as well- she is so funny and warm! My only complaint would be that they often use an external call service, it seems (someone answers your call, takes down a message and then forwards it to the office) so it can seem a bit back and forth especially when you really need to get a hold of someone in the actual office, though Dr. Bailyn is very good at following up. His cellphone may also ring at times while you are in the appointment, but these things are overshadowed by his friendly, respectful and caring demeanor so it doesn't bother me as much at this point. I always recommend him to others!

I have chose Dr. Bailyn as my primary phisician and the reason is because he is very friendly, he explains to you in a simple way what is the reasoning on what he's prescribing and he listens to all I have to say. He is very kind and I feel very comfortable talking to him. Besides that the waiting time is always minimal.

I requested a set of services when I booked the appointment, and they actually checked my coverage and called in advance to let me know that certain services I requested were not covered, and what the charges would be. With other doctors, I had become accustomed to large surprise bills, or surly receptionists that don't have any idea what services will cost and think it is unreasonable for me to ask. Visiting Dr. Bailyn's office is a pleasure in comparison.

Dr Bailyn and his staff are wonderful. I waited no more than 35 minutes to see him and there were about 2-3 people ahead of me. He did take a thorough history, exam, etc so the whole appointment took at least an hour but it was worth it and less than other doctor visits where I'm sitting in a waiting room for one hour and wait an additional 30 minutes to see a doctor for 2 minutes. He was great, informative and attentive. His staff was very friendly and the medical office is clean and well maintained. I will continue to see him.

Not sure I got an "annual check up". Doctor spent minimal Time with me and started and ended his exam with the question "is there anything that is bothering you." Technician took my vitals and history - but given that it was my first appointment I expected questions about know family history (heart, cancer, etc. ) but didn't get them.

Office were clean and peaceful, staff very friendly and welcoming. The doctor was pleasant and he and his team seemed thorough.

Quick and efficient.

I really like Dr Bailyn. He always listens to me and makes me feel very comfortable. I have seen him twice and would highly recommend him. It's hard to find a good PCP in Manhattan and I'm glad I finally found a physician I respect and trust.

Since this was an initial visit, I hesitate to give too high a mark. Also, I feel the wait time was excessive, although the doctor did apologize. My rule is to usually wait no longer than 20 minutes; however, since this was a first appointment I wanted to give him a chance. Felt his questions were very good and believe over time we will build a good professional relationship.

Dr. Bailyn has been my primary care doctor for about 3 years now. Being a diabetic, I see him pretty often. Even though I initially picked him because his office was close to mine, I couldn't be happier with the knowledge, concern, care, and professionalism that he and his staff exhibit at every visit.

I thought the small town doctor, who asks about your life, makes you feel completely safe and comfortable, and has time to field questions about your concerns, was not to be found in New York. I was wrong. I've tried several g.p.'s in the city, but don't need to look any further. Dr. Bailyn is the one.

First time meeting Dr. Douglas Bailyn was today. I left my previosu physician due to a few issues(not calling me back, allowing prescriptions to lapse and forgetting to call them in, deciding to semi-retire and only opening 2 days a week so it takes me 4 weeks to get in to see him for 3 minutes). That being said, I walked into an entirely different atmosphere today. The staff was attentive and super friendly and the doctor was amazing. He didn't take anything for granted and wanted to make sure he had all possible info (blood, urine, vitals, etc) and even noticed a condition that I hadn't told I'd had as it wasn't, I'd assumed, something of concern. We tested and he was correct in his diagnosis that this prior condition was flaring up again and treated me for that as well. I can't say enough about Dr. Bailyn. Definitely recommend him with 5 stars!

Dr. Bailyn is awesome, he's really personable, friendly and open minded. You can tell him anything, he totally gets it and is really genuinely helpful.

Convenient, friendly office, the doctor is great
