Dr. Martin McElya is a native Texan. He grew up in Dallas and attended Bryan Adams High School. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Prior to admission to medical school he worked as a commercial pilot and flight instructor. Upon graduation from medical school in 1995 from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center he accepted internship and residency positions at Columbia Medical Center Dallas Southwest. Dr. McElya opened Neighborhood Medical Center in October of 1998. He is on staff at Medical City Hospital of Dallas and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and numerous other professional organizations.

His style of practice is warm and compassionate and he can often be recognized in the office by his tennis shoes as he dashes from room to room in an effort to keep the patients wait time to a minimum. He specializes in ADD and ADHD diagnosis and treatment. He lives in North Dallas with his wife and three children. Martin was very nice and friendly, however he seemed rushed and nervous like he was either overworked or over-caffienated... either of which could be true. However, he did answer my questions and concerns and got the issue taken care of very quickly.

The wait was absolutely rediculous 2 hours the nurses in the back where sitting around chatting instead of helping along the process for the patients, I will never be back, however the PA Toni Smith that helped was nice and professional!

I would definitely recommend this Dr.! He was great.... great bedside manner and i had to take my 3 year old with me cause daddy was working Dr. Martin was wonderful with her and all her questions and interruptions! Also the nurse who brought me back and took my vitals was great and great with my daughter too who wanted her vitals done too ;o) great office and staff I'm sticking with this one!

I went in and had asked to please speak with him for one moment and his new addition Toni was extremely rude and I know dr mcelya would never had said or treated me in such a rude manner 1. Depart Dallas North Tollway 2. Take ramp right for N Dallas Pkwy toward Spring Creek Pkwy / Tennyson Pkwy: 0.5 mi 3. Make a U-turn to stay on N Dallas Pkwy: 200 ft 4.
