FAQs

The primary change is that Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) at VA will be able to book with you online on behalf of Veterans, rather than over the phone

The MSAs will be able to find you on Zocdoc by name or practice. They can also find you by searching for all providers in your location who treat a specific visit reason and take a certain insurance. The MSAs will book an appointment digitally within the availability you share with Zocdoc.

At the time of booking, MSAs will provide the authorization number digitally. Patient ID cards and forms will also be shared via Zocdoc, keeping important information in one place.

The VA will still send a referral packet to your practice (not through Zocdoc), after the appointment is booked digitally.

No, choosing not to join will not impact your membership in the community care network (CCN). This program makes the scheduling process faster and more seamless for patients and providers.

Receiving bookings from the VA through Zocdoc is free. There is no hidden cost to joining, and no hidden costs once the VA appointment is booked.
If you would like to stop receiving VA bookings through Zocdoc, you can stop listing availability. This means the VA won’t find available times to book with you. If you’d like to remove your Zocdoc profile, contact Zocdoc.
