Frequently asked questions
Does the cost column include Sponsored Results spend?
No, the cost field only reflects the Marketplace new patient booking fee. Sponsored Results charges are billed separately and are not included in the appointment report.
Why is the cost in my appointment report different from my invoice?
The cost field in your appointment report shows the booking fee for each appointment in real time, while your billing invoice is a monthly snapshot generated at the end of the billing period. Certain cancellations, accepted disputes, or other adjustments that happen after your invoice is created may appear as credits on a future invoice instead. Your invoice may also include additional charges, such as taxes or Sponsored Results spend, that aren’t included in the appointment report cost field.
Why can’t I see appointments from “Your website” (Booking Link) or “Google and others” (Book from Google) for dates before Jan. 1, 2025?
From Jan 1, 2025 onward, the appointment report will show appointment details for the sources your practice uses, like the Zocdoc Marketplace, Book from Google, and the Booking Link. When you look at the appointment report for periods before Jan 1, 2025, bookings from the Booking Link and Book from Google will be grouped together under Your website and others.
What if a patient marks that they’re a new patient, but they’re actually an existing patient?
If you believe a patient mistakenly identified themselves as a new patient, report it to us within 7 days of receiving the booking:
Go to your appointment report.
Find the relevant appointment and click on the three dots on the far right (last column).
Click on “Submit a claim that this is an existing patient.”
Review the pop-up and enter the patient’s last appointment date. Submit your claim by checking the box to confirm the patient has previously seen the provider and then click “Submit.”
We will review your claim. If the Zocdoc team can confirm this is an existing patient, the new patient booking fee will be applied as a credit to your account. If your claims are found to be submitted in bad faith, your account may be suspended.
