When should I report a patient?
Practices should report any patient who violates the Zocdoc Community Standards, whether in your facility or on a virtual visit, especially if the conduct is abusive, dangerous, or inappropriate. Examples of violations include inappropriate conduct, duplicate bookings, drug-seeking behavior, and misrepresentation of their identity and/or insurance.
Reporting patient behavior accurately and in a timely manner helps us better identify when an individual should not be using the Zocdoc platform.
How do I report a patient?
Log into your Zocdoc account. Then, navigate to your Inbox, Calendar, or the Patient Record page. From there, click on the patient you want to report.
Click on the flag icon at the top of the appointment card.
Tell us why you are reporting the patient. You can select multiple reasons, if applicable. You must provide specific details in order to submit the report. When doing so, do not include any of the patient’s personal identifiable information. Please refer to the Zocdoc Community Standards for additional guidance.
After submitting the report, the flag icon will turn red for that patient. You can only report a patient once, even if they book again after you’ve turned in a report.
What does Zocdoc do with the report?
While we are not able to report on the results of our investigation, our Trust and Safety team will investigate all reports, and reach out to the patient directly as needed. Based on practice reports and account activity monitoring, Trust & Safety may block a patient account temporarily or permanently. In addition to investigating patient accounts that practices report to us, the Trust & Safety team continuously monitors all Zocdoc accounts for unusual behavior on the site.
Please direct any questions regarding reporting patients to Zocdoc to trustandsafety@zocdoc.com.
How many times can I report a patient?
You can only report a patient once, even if they book again after you’ve turned in a report. If you need to submit additional information regarding a previously reported patient, please reach out directly to trustandsafety@zocdoc.com.
