Updated over 9 months ago

The Patient Choice badge helps providers stand out in search results and get more bookings. Follow these tips to help your providers qualify for the badge and keep it each quarter.

Average rating

Providers must have an average rating of 4.6 or higher from Zocdoc patient reviews. To help providers maintain high ratings:

Cancellation rate

Providers must keep their total cancellation rate under 30%. To help reduce cancellations:

Bookings and reviews

Providers need at least 5 bookings per quarter, and 5 total lifetime reviews from patients who booked through Zocdoc. Getting more bookings can help providers get more reviews. To meet both criteria:

  • Add all accepted insurances and visit reasons to appear in as many relevant searches as possible.

  • Set your working hours to as wide a range as possible to maximize the availability you show to patients.

  • While reviews requested from existing patients don’t count toward the Patient Choice criteria, they can boost your profile’s visibility on Zocdoc and help you get more bookings—helping you meet the booking criteria. Providers with 10+ reviews see 3x more monthly bookings than those with none.

  • Use online scheduling tools to make it easy for patients to book anytime, anywhere. Bookings and reviews from these sources count toward the Patient Choice criteria.

  • Try Sponsored Results, a paid advertising product on the Zocdoc Marketplace that helps grow booking volume by maximizing your visibility to patients in search. On average, practices see a 44% increase in new patient bookings after joining Sponsored Results.
