In the learning period, the ad system learns the group’s bid and conversion patterns to identify searches the group is most likely to convert in & what bid it needs to beat competitors. The learning period lasts for 14 days and starts whenever you create a new provider group. During this time, performance can be volatile, as the ad system learns how your practice performs in different scenarios.
After the 14 day learning period, the ads system will share personalized bid recommendations for the provider group. These recommendations are what the ad system determines your practice should bid to get Sponsored bookings. The ad system regularly refreshes this recommendation.
Best practices
During the learning phase, aim to compete for as many searches as possible. This will help the ad system collect data about how you perform in various searches. To help the ad system learn & deliver personalized bid recommendations:
Ensure that your Sponsored providers have a 100% search score. Providers with availability, who take popular insurances, treat popular visit reasons, and have good reviews will compete for the most searches. Check your providers’ search score from your performance dashboard.
Maximize your budget. This ensures you are eligible to compete in as many auctions as possible. If you run out of budget, you are ineligible to compete or be featured in a Sponsored listing. See how to change your budget here.
Don’t make changes during the learning period: Modifications, particularly changing the make-up of your provider group, can disrupt the ad system’s learnings.
