Creating a provider group allows you to set a unique bid for a subset of your practice. If there are specific providers, locations, or specialties you’d like to feature in Sponsored Results more frequently than others, you can set more competitive bids for those groups.
Your “Default Sponsored Results Group” consists of all of your providers, under one max bid. This will be the group automatically created when you enroll for Sponsored Results.
We recommend creating multiple groups only for distinct sets of providers or clear growth strategies. Provider groups are most useful for
Multi-location or multi-specialty practices, where the 'competitive' bid value varies by specialty and location.
Distinct provider segments that are high growth priority. For example, new providers at the practice that need more new patients than others.
Each provider group should be distinct - each provider should be in only one group. Overlapped groups will result in inflated bid recommendations.
You can change your provider group bids at any time in your Sponsored Results dashboard and see reporting for each provider group.
Can I remove a provider from a provider group?

Can I add a provider to a provider group?
If the provider group is filtered by specialty or location, the removed providers will be visible below the providers active in the group. They can be added back any time by selecting the ‘+’ next to their name. You cannot add a provider who does not match the filtered criteria.
If a provider group has individually selected providers, the removed providers will not appear below the active provider list. To add a provider into the group, search for that provider in the right-hand panel and select the box to the left of the name.
