How to use Zocdoc Referral List

Learn how to use Zocdoc Referral List to create and send referral lists to patients, for free

  1. Click Add new specialists to search by specialties, insurances, and distance from your location.

  2. Browse the list of specialists and click into any profile to learn more about the provider and their practice. If you like what you see, simply click Add to network and they will be added to your referral list. We do not notify the specialist when they have been added or removed from your list, and you can easily remove specialists from your list.

  3. If you have specialists that you typically refer to who are not on Zocdoc, you can manually add these providers to your referral list, so you can manage your network in one place. (Zocdoc will not reach out to these providers unless you give us permission to.)

  4. When you’re ready to send your referral list to any patient, whether or not they booked through Zocdoc, click Send referral list on the right panel.

  5. You can also send your referral list to an individual patient on their appointment card.

  6. When you send a referral list, you will have the option to first filter your list by certain specialties. Then, input the patient’s email or phone number to send them a digital list. You can also print out the list with a Zocdoc-generated QR code to share with patients in-person.

  7. One the patient receives a link to your list, they will be able to further filter your recommendations to fit their needs and book an appointment directly from the list. Note: Patients will be able to see the recommended specialists’ availability only if the provider is using Zocdoc Marketplace. .
