“So nice to interact with personable, understanding, and nice front office staff. Loved how the office was decorated for Halloween. I appreciated the presence of students in the office because it shows commitment to the field and keeps practices up to date. I was seen right on time which is so important these days. Dr. Seigel and his assistant were so polite and pleasant to interact with. I have been an ObGyn in Montgomery County since 1981. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York, Buffalo. I have been fortunate to serve as a leader in organized medicine, including roles as President of the Montgomery County Medical Society, President of Med Chi, the Maryland State Medical Society, President of the Maryland Obstetrical and Gynecologic Society, Chair of the Maryland Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Co-Chair of the Physicians' Electronic Health Record Coalition.
For the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, I am the Chair of the Practice Management Committee and have taught courses at the Annual Clinical Meeting of ACOG. Currently, I am the Faculty Director for two medical education courses at the 2013 ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting: “Information Technology: Improving Patient Outcomes and Optimizing Practice Management,” which discusses the use of information technology in the modern ObGyn practice, and “Social Media in Obstetrics and Gynecology,” a new ACOG course exploring the professional uses of social media and blogs.
My honors include being named one of Washington's Top Doctors by Washingtonian Magazine from 2002 to 2013.
I have been married to my wife Edith since 1977. We have two children, Julie and David, and live in Bethesda. My favorite physical activity is swimming-I enjoy it year-round at the YMCA, even outdoors in winter! I also enjoy reading science fiction and mysteries. My favorite authors are William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Haruki Murakami. My favorite film is Blade Runner.
I have special interests in Electronic Health Records, Computers in Medicine, Social Media, Blogging, and especially Apple Computers.

My favorite doctor. I have been going to Dr. Seigel for 17 years. He had delivered two of my children. He is knowledgeable, which is the most important for me. When looking for a professional. However in addition to being knowledgeable, he is kind, caring, careful and friendly. He is very “human” - I respect that the most in him, as it I very rare because of the ‘patient in, patient out’ routine other doctors have.

Dr. Seigel put all my worries to rest immediately upon meeting him. He took time to listen to my concerns, he explained everything thoroughly, and he was very kind and understanding. So many doctors don't listen or they rush you. Dr. Seigel spent a lot of time getting to know my history and I felt comfortable and less nervous. His staff/nurses are also nice and welcoming.

The doctor is great, but, as always, the wait time was much more than expected. I sat in the waiting room for over half an hour, and then I waited in the cold exam room for another 20 minutes! All of this to see the doctor for less than 5 minutes.

I will not be going back to Dr. Seigel. He lacked serious attention to detail. He left another patient’s questionnaire on the desk in front of me that included her full name, birth date, and the number of abortions she had. He kept forgetting details I told him about myself...made me feel like he wasn’t listening. Another patient’s blood and what appeared to be a stool sample were on the table in the exam room during my entire exam. Although very nice, he seemed uncomfortable during the exam. He didn’t do many of the tests my former doctor would do at my normal annual check ups. He was attempting to push a different form of birth control on me even though I told him I liked mine and had no issues with it. I wrote things in my questionnaire that I thought he might want to know more about (as a good doctor should). I asked him if he had any questions about my questionnaire and he said he didn’t...it was like ten pages and took me an hour to fill out and he barely glanced at it. So basically, other than him being nice enough, I came away with nothing positive to say about the experience. I am seriously confused about all of the positive reviews.

Dr. Seigel is a great doctor, he consults with you on your initial visit and every visit after that. I appreciate the closeness of his staff and I feel so comfortable when I am being seen. I am glad I found his practice.
