Getting to know Jessie Seide
I am a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health and Psychiatric Mental Health, as well as a Physician Assistant. After working as a Physician Assistant for a few years, I realized my passion for learning and began advancing my career in a non-traditional manner to become more versatile. I graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a master's degree in Family Health Nursing and obtained my Psychiatric Mental Health post-master's certificate from Wilkes University. In December 2020, I completed my doctoral degree, gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure the highest level of care through quality improvement initiatives in healthcare.
I have worked in various diverse settings over the years, both as a Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner, and more recently in the outpatient family practice setting, where I ran a private practice as the sole medical provider for several years. My extensive experience and exposure to multiple specialties have allowed me to bring a holistic perspective to patient care.
It was while working in family practice that I discovered my passion for caring for patients with behavioral health issues. For the past two years, I have worked with acutely psychiatrically ill patients in hospital settings, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient treatment.
I am dedicated to providing mental health care to marginalized patients using evidence-based practice skills and guidelines, coupled with psychotherapy, to ensure the best healthcare outcomes. My goal is to bridge gaps and disparities that exist in healthcare, particularly among patients with behavioral health disorders.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, conducting medical research, and spending time with my family.
