About Dr. Zachary Hettler
Zachary Hettler brings a rare combination of expertise to PMST as both a licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/LAT) and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). With this dual skill set, he bridges the gap between on-field injury care and advanced rehabilitation, giving athletes and active individuals the complete continuum of performance-based healthcare.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin in Athletic Training and the University of Texas Medical Branch with his Doctor of Physical Therapy, Zachary further sharpened his expertise through a Sports Residency at Houston Methodist. His training includes extensive experience in outpatient sports medicine, inpatient rehab, and hands-on coverage for athletes ranging from high school to elite levels.
Zachary is passionate about proper body mechanics, sports injury prevention, and performance optimization. He has worked with football, tennis, softball, track and field, and soccer athletes, designing individualized recovery and return-to-play programs while also contributing to sports performance research.
At PMST, Zachary’s approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation with the practical insight of an athletic trainer, ensuring patients not only recover but also return stronger, healthier, and more resilient than before.
