Dr. J. James Lewis is a diligent primary care physician who provides comprehensive and holistic medical care to the people of Wilton and New Canaan, CT. My visit with Dr. Lewis was pleasant. No problems with check-in. The wait was less than 5 minutes. The waiting area was clean, spacious, and well lit. Dr. Lewis performed the request I had made the appointment for. Overall everything was very good.

I needed a primary care doctor and hadn’t had a physical in a long time, so I was nervous going in. Dr. Lewis and his office made the process really easy for me. The doctor is friendly and warm and open, and helped put me at ease and listened to me as I described some concerns I had. I will remain a patient with this office.

The office staff was very pleasant to converse with. The office took necessary covid precautions, which made it feel like a very comfortable/safe environment. Dr. Lewis was an excellent doctor. He asked thorough questions and was very friendly. You could tell he was really listening to what you had to say, which is definitely a crucial quality needed in a doctor.

Waited in the waiting room for an hour while the inexperienced desk staff (who clearly had a ton of responsibility and little help) tried to figure out how to confirm my insurance coverage. They were very friendly but unfortunately couldn't spend the entire day in the doctor's office. Will not return.

I think Zocdoc is more to blame for this than Dr. Lewis, but I initially booked him thinking he was a GI doctor. I only found out he was a PCP when the nurse took me into the exam room. I looked back at Zocdoc and confirmed that I was booked for a "GI consultation."
Luckily, I recently moved to the area and had yet to find a PCP doctor. I thought Dr. Lewis had a great bedside manner, was diligent about asking questions regarding my health, and was quick to recommend some new medication I should try. He also passed along 4 different local GI docs to reach out to.
It was an annoying mix up at first, but it all worked out and I'm happy to have Dr. Lewis as my new PCP.
