About Dr. Melissa Goldstein

*Please make sure the name you have entered for your booking matches what is currently on your photo identification* Dr. Melissa Goldstein works with Dr. Maria Asnis and Dr. Bismruta Misra at Fairfield County Diabetes & Endocrinology (FCDE). FCDE is a unique consultative center that offers the most up-to-date comprehensive treatment for diabetes and endocrinologic disorders. The endocrinologists at FCDE pride themselves on individualizing treatment regimens and realize that a “one shoe fits all” approach does not work. They enjoy educating patients to better understand their disease process and empower them to treat their condition. Our physicians work in conjunction with Stamford Hospital Diabetes Education Program, an American Diabetes Association recognized program which provides individual and group nutritional counseling, diabetes education, and insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring training. In addition, we administer all current osteoporosis treatments in office including thyroid ultrasounds and ultrasound guided thyroid biopsies. Dr. Melissa Goldstein completed her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at New York University. While she enjoys taking care of any endocrinology problem, special interests include thyroid cancer, hypogonadism, and thyroid disease and diabetes in pregnancy. In addition, she is experienced in the management of transgender individuals. Her research background includes testing a novel neuroendocrine drug in the treatment of breast cancer and following a cohort of acromegalic patients. Dr. Goldstein is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. *Important: Please ensure that you correctly identify yourself as a new or existing patient, as this directly impacts the allotted appointment duration and we want to ensure that you have the adequate amount of time needed. Thank you for your compliance.*

Great office staff and medical professionals.
Nice competent and a. good listener. I had previously been misdiagnosed . Dr. Goldstein explained my test results and my treatment plan for diabetes. Meeting with the nutritionist set up and workshops to follow. Very friendly organized medical practice. .
It took me three calls to finally understand my medication - which is completely different what I have been taking for 2 years. So how am I supposed to understand without having a conversation with the doctor? Every time you call they make you talk to some admin first, who is completely unknowledgeable. She brokers between the doctor and patient ... poor listening skills make it even harder to get the info you need. I have my doubt that I get the right treatment for my disease.
