“Very thorough, my first visit. Only complaint is my electronic record says I received a flu vaccine on this visit. That did not happen.
The phone system does not give you an option to talk to someone in the office. I hope the Dermatology Group does not charge my insurance for “administration of vaccine product containing only Influenza virus antigen (procedure)”.

Erika Kettlehut, DO, attended Xavier University for her undergraduate degree and received her master's degree from the University of Louisville. She then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Pikeville's Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Erika completed her dermatology residency at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan. She is the recipient of multiple academic awards and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, CrossFit, yoga, hiking, trying new cuisines, and traveling.

Made an appointment regarding my psoriasis. The appointment was began quite late and was rushed. I don’t think I saw the doctor for more than 4 or 5 minutes. After the first 30 seconds she was prescribing me a gnarly steroid cream and looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wasn’t interested due to the side effects I’ve read about, and I am not wanting to be on something indefinitely. No talk about how to actually fight the inflammation that is causing it. Diagnose, prescribe, cash in I guess. No real help to be found here if you want a specialist to guide you in treating the root problem instead of slapping an expensive, dangerous, chemical band aid on it.

Office was great, and was seen very promptly. This was my first time ever seeing a dermatologist and I felt like it was rushed and the doctor didn’t really care about me. I was only with her for about 3-4 minutes. No questions about my skin and didn’t inspect my full body even though they were aware I spend significant time in the pool/outside. Just felt like a waste of a copay.

I was seen quickly and Dr. Erika did a thorough skin scan, answering my questions as she went along. She didn’t rush, it was clear she was looking closely. Very good bedside manner. Even though her office is 45 minutes from home, it’s very much worth the trip! She will be my regular dermatologist.

Dr. Kettelhut was very professional and friendly. Made sure that she addressed all of my concerns, gave me recommendations for products I was interested in and gave me some product samples. I also was able to get an appointment quickly. Other dermatologists offered earliest appointments that were 6 - 8 months out.

You could tell she was a kind person from the moment she walked into the door. She repeated the plan to me several times to make sure I agreed
and understood, and she walked me through each step of the biopsy and made sure nothing was painful. I was nervous about the appointment, but my nerves were definitely set as ease!
