About Gaye Koconis

**When scheduling your Well Woman Exam, please ensure it's scheduled one year after your previous exam.** Gaye is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who has been practicing in the Chicago area for over 19 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Loyola University Chicago and her master's degree in Maternal Child Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and Evidence Based Birth. Gaye also serves as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Illinois at Chicago, Frontier University, North Park University, and Regis College in Massachusetts. Her focus on health promotion and harm reduction allows her to care for patients throughout their lifespan—from adolescence to menopause. She has worked on numerous committees to expand access to individualized and respectful care that recognizes the uniqueness of every person. Gaye believes that health care encounters should empower patients to be active participants in their own care. She lives in Chicago with her partner and their four children. When she is not with patients, she enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family, dog, and cat.
