We’re sorry that your patient didn’t show up to the appointment. Zocdoc has strict policies to help reduce cancellations and no-shows. We send email and text reminders, and we also suspend patients who repeatedly cancel or do not show up to appointments. Learn more about how we prevent cancellations and no-shows.
Marking no-shows helps Zocdoc monitor these patients and take action as necessary. To mark a no-show, follow the below steps in Inbox. Note: Bookings are removed from Inbox 1 hour past their appointment time; after 1 hour, you can still mark a no-show from your Calendar.
From your Inbox, within 1 hour of the appointment time:
Log into Zocdoc.
Find the booking in your Inbox. You can search for the patient name in Inbox, or sort the bookings by appointment date by clicking on the column header to find it more easily.
Click on the booking. Then, click on Mark as no show on the bottom of the appointment card.
From your Calendar, 1+ hours after the appointment time:
Log in to Zocdoc.
Find the booking within your Calendar, or search for the patient. This will take you to their patient record, where you can follow the same step below.
Click on the booking. Click “Mark as no show.” You will only be able to mark a no-show within 48 hours.
From your Zocdoc Video Service waiting room:
Navigate to your waiting room on Zocdoc Video Service.
If the patient has not arrived 10 minutes after their scheduled appointment time, you will be able to mark them as a no-show from the Next up section. You’ll then have up to 15 minutes to mark them as a no-show.
For example, if a patient doesn’t show up for a 9 AM appointment, the option to mark them as a no-show will appear at 9:10 AM. You will then be able to mark them as a no-show between 9:10-9:25 AM.
Appointments that take place on Zocdoc Video Service must be marked as a no-show from your waiting room. You will not be able to mark them as a no-show from Calendar or Inbox later.
