We’re sorry that you need to cancel your appointment. Before you do so, remember that canceling appointments can cause negative patient experiences.
If you want to cancel an appointment because you’re missing information, first check the patient’s appointment card—the relevant insurance and Intake information might be there. If you’re still missing Intake information, send an Intake reminder.
If you still need to cancel the appointment, make sure to communicate with the patient directly beforehand so they aren’t caught off guard when they receive an automated cancellation email from Zocdoc.
Log into Zocdoc, and navigate to your Inbox
Find and click on the booking in your Inbox
Click Edit appointment at the bottom of the appointment card, and then select Cancel appointment
Last but not least, complete the brief cancellation survey on the screen. We collect these responses to work on solutions to reduce cancellations and improve the provider experience. Note: The cancellation reason you select here is not sent to the patient, but you should communicate this to the patient ahead of time, so there are no surprises. Checking the box next to “The patient has agreed to the cancellation” is necessary in order to cancel the appointment.
To prevent cancellations in the future, ensure your profile and calendar—including visit reasons, insurances, and availability—are accurate and up-to-date.
