Patient Reviews

Learn more about how patients post reviews.

Which patients can leave reviews?

Patients who have booked with you on Zocdoc, through your Google Business Profile, or through your website’s Book Online Button are able to leave reviews with you after you have indicated they’ve attended the appointment. Zocdoc emails patients after their appointment time, inviting them to leave you a review, and we handle vetting and posting them.

How are patients asked to leave a review?

Patients will be sent an email, 3 hours after their appointment, asking them to leave a review. If they don’t leave one then, they’ll receive another email reminder 1 day later, and then 4 days after that. They can leave a review up to 120 days after their appointment.

How do reviews get posted?

After each Zocdoc appointment, we ask patients for feedback about their experience. We moderate our reviews with the goal to build a trustworthy, representative, reliable review system that is helpful to patients and doctors alike.

We have an entire team dedicated to ensuring that all reviews (including Zocdoc Patient Reviews and Partner Reviews) are in compliance with our guidelines. We will not post any reviews that contain the following:

  • Profanity: Anything profane, vulgar, or otherwise offensive.

  • Personal information: We take privacy seriously! We won’t post reviews that include personally identifiable information such as a patient’s full name, phone number, or email address.

  • Pricing specifics: These comments tend to reflect more on insurance providers than physicians.

  • Accuracy of treatment or diagnosis: We don’t publish claims about the accuracy of a practitioner’s treatment and diagnosis, because they are factual matters that we cannot verify.

  • Promotional content: We want our reviews to be as relevant as possible, so we don’t post reviews that promote an unrelated website, product, topic, or other item that is unrelated to the patient experience.

How do I know which patient wrote each review?

As a default, you can see the first name and last initial of the patient writing the review. If the initials are hidden, then the patient has chosen to leave the review anonymously and we will not be able to provide the name of the patient.

Does Zocdoc moderate practice reviews?

Yes, we have an entire team dedicated to ensuring that all reviews (including Zocdoc Patient Reviews and Partner Reviews) are in compliance with our guidelines.
