Patients strongly prefer to see dental providers close to home, with 4 out of 5 appointments booked within 20 miles of their location.
Why do they want to see the dentist?
The top 3 visit reasons included dental cleanings, consultations and new patient exams, respectively. Cavities and problems with wisdom teeth rounded out the top 10.
When patients chose to book without insurance, the top 3 visit reasons were for veneers, cosmetic emergencies and braces/retainer checkups.
Dental implants, bridges and bad breath (halitosis) were the top 3 most booked out-of-network visit reasons.

Tuesdays were the most popular days for dental appointments, followed by Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Popularity dropped off on Fridays and into the weekend.
How do patients book visits with dentists?
