About Dr. David Lustenberger
David P. Lustenberger, M.D., is a Cincinnati, Ohio native. After graduating from St. Xavier High School, he attended The Ohio State University where he received his B.S. degree in Biology and graduated with honors. He then stayed at The Ohio State University for medical school and graduated with honors.
He completed his residency at the University of Virginia in orthopaedic surgery, where he received the Orthopaedic In-Training Examination Award. He went on to become the Administrative Chief Resident for the Orthopaedic Surgery Program. After, he completed an additional year of fellowship specialty training in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Lustenberger is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder surgery, sports medicine, and orthopaedics. He is passionate about the variety of patients he sees, ranging from young athletes with rotator cuff injuries to older patients with shoulder arthritis. He also specializes in general orthopaedics, fracture care, and joint replacements.
He previously served as varsity rowing coach for Westerville Crew, and is an Eagle Scout. When he’s not working, he enjoys hiking and kayaking.
