About Dr. Joshua Murphy
Joshua Murphy, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements. He has additional experience in trauma, fracture care, sports related injuries, general orthopaedics, and minimally invasive techniques. Utilizing minimally invasive techniques and providing the most current treatments to his patients is important to him to ensure they quickly return to an active lifestyle.
Dr. Murphy played basketball at Northern Kentucky University and graduated in 2003. He then attended medical school at the University of Louisville and completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. He was selected as Administrative Chief Resident for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery during the last year of his residency.
Dr. Murphy completed an additional year of fellowship specialty training in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement at Rush University in Chicago. During this time, he learned the most current techniques in quadriceps sparing knee replacements, partial knee replacement, muscle sparing anterior hip replacement, Birmingham Hip Resurfacing, and complex revision procedures for hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Murphy and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children. Elizabeth is a Cincinnati native and Oak Hills High School Athletics Hall of Fame Member. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his three children and exercising to maintain his own joint health.

Dr. Murphy was very personable ,thorough and open re his recommendations and we are following up with one more test to determine for sure if there may be unseen structural damage in the knee.

I was able to learn why I hurt and what needs to be done to correct my problem. I have seen 3 other doctors for this same problem in the last 18 months who could not identify the source of my pain including another orthopod.
