“I worked with Wes for almost two years. He's the best therapist I've ever had hands down, and really sad to stop working together due to my out of state move. He has exceptional active listening skills that makes his presence as if you're his only client. He's right there with you in every session, I never had to remind him about something we talked about as he often was able to pull from something we spoke about months before in real time without have to search through notes. I am in such a better place due to our work together and am forever grateful of his attention to detail to make me feel comfortable being vulnerable in each session. ”

Getting to know Wes Curtis

Please note that I am an out-of-network provider with all insurances. I can provide you with a superbill to help you obtain reimbursement from your insurance company and am happy to walk you through the reimbursement process so that our sessions are covered by your insurance. You can be self-aware and successful in many ways — and yet something still feels stuck. Maybe it's a loop of overthinking, reactivity, or you're noticing familiar patterns in relationships that leave you feeling disconnected or dissatisfied. Even if you’ve done therapy before, you may feel like insight alone isn't moving the needle. I've dedicated myself to helping adults who are ready to do the deep, transformative act of self-change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients are often highly capable but feel blocked by old coping strategies, internal criticism, or lingering pain from early relationships. I specialize in powerful somatic and experiential methods (AEDP and parts work) to move beyond talk therapy into helping you access emotional clarity, inner alignment, and deeper connection in your relationships and daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My style is active, engaged, and collaborative. If you're ready to invest in your emotional growth and want a therapy that feels both compassionate and transformative to help grow into your most grounded, connected self — I’d love to support that journey. I have advanced training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) which focuses on the brain-body relationship to attachment styles, trauma residue, and emotional health. With couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to increase connection and intimacy, fortify secure attachment, teach healthy communication techniques, and gain a deeper understanding of partners. I also have training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP).

Wes is a great therapist. He created a non-judgmental atmosphere, that allowed me to feel comfortable expressing myself deeply. His listening skills and insightful responses made me feel very seen. I found that I took something valuable away from each session.
Wes is a skilled therapist and collaborator in navigating all parts of life. We worked together weekly for one year, and what I appreciated most was his openness to utilizing different methods, it really felt that my experience was guiding the treatment he offered, and each session felt nuanced and refreshing. I originally found Downtown Somatic Therapy in my research because I wanted to integrate the wisdom of my body into my healing journey. With Wes' guidance I learned the profound abilities of my mind/body to feel and move through experiences via feeling. His unwavering presence in sessions helped me feel safe and allowed me to go deep, all while feeling seen and supported. His presence is paired with a keen awareness for subtle shifts and a gentle yet direct way of dialoguing with you about what you are going through emotionally in each shared moment. I hold deep gratitude for the work we did together, and highly recommend working with Wes!
Wes is the kind of therapist who immediately makes you feel seen. He is attentive, precise, and hard-hitting in the gentlest of ways. It's not all serious but it's not all fluff with Wes, either. He meets you where you are each session and is equipped with expert tools to help you through any issue, past or present.
