Match an existing Google Business Profile to a Zocdoc Provider or Practice

How to manually link an existing Google Business Profile to a Zocdoc provider or practice profile when automatic matching fails.

Updated over 8 months ago

If you created your Google Business Profile directly on Google (not through Zocdoc), our system might not automatically link it to your Zocdoc profile. This is usually due to small differences in how the name or address is written.

To ensure that the Google Business Profile settings page reflects the correct status, you can manual match the profile yourself.

When to manually match my Google Business Profile

You should use the manual matching flow if:

  • You've already created a Google Business Profile through Google directly.

  • You’re seeing an unexpected “Set Up Profile” or “Claim Profile” prompt in Zocdoc.

  • Your existing GBP hasn’t been automatically linked to your Zocdoc provider or practice.

How Manual Matching Works

  1. Click “Set Up Profile” on the Google Business Profiles page in your Zocdoc account:

    1. Zocdoc will attempt a match using the Name and Address or the profile

    2. If a match is found, you'll be directed to the Match modal. If not, you’ll be taken to the standard create or claim flow.

  2. Choose the Business Profile you would like to match via the dropdown of all unmatched GBPs associated with the Google account you authorized.

    1. Zocdoc will highlight a recommended profile if one appears to be the best match.

    2. Can’t find your GBP? Click “I don’t see my profile” to return to the create/claim options.

  3. Confirm the Match and it will be matched with the Zocdoc provider or practice you chose.

    1. The GBP status will be updated in real time on the settings page (e.g., “Connected”).

💡 Tip

To avoid issues, ensure the name and address used in Google mirror what's listed in Zocdoc as closely as possible.
